It takes only a few minutes to get here by boat from Portovenere, and it's a nice, quiet place with a beautiful beach. You can also walk around the island which is really nice, and offers a beautiful view.

Took a ferry here for a quiet hike around the island. More gradual inclines, not too difficult. One restaurant on the island that we saw with outdoor dining and a patio in the back for a glass of wine.

We have our own inflatable kayak and preferred to stay close to the see in the hot September weather: so chose the water vs. hiking Isola Palmaria. We arrived relatively early to Portovenere and found a good parking place at the beach, where we could...More

We took the ferry from Portovenere to Terrizzo, on Palmaria Is. - €5 return/person. We then walked in an anticlockwise direction (you could do it clockwise). The path, marked by red and white horizontal stripes, took us along a gravel road and then a track...More

There are several boats from Portovenere that go daily to Palmaria which is really very close. The tickets are 5 euro with return and are a little overpriced since it is swimming distance but because of the many boats going through it is dangerous to...More
