We walked by the cathedral which had a large covering while they continue to do repairs from the 2012 earthquake. Instead we visited the cathedral museum which is open.

The Catedral is under restoration for some time. Also Palazzo Diamanti... Take it into consideration before planning your trip to Ferrara

Its big, impressive and the ceiling has so much gold its amazing it is still up there! Seeing is believing and it is worth the entrance fee and real candles, not the electric ones make a difference.
