We found this place accidentally when we were looking for somewhere to eat. It's another example of the magnificent stonework of Portugal and is in very good order.

We stopped by this little town and saw an old bridge, built in the Roman style. It went over a small creek that was crystal clear water. The history was pretty interesting.

Relying on the "Rough Guide" to Portugal we visited the historic village of Ucanha which is about 12 km from Lamego which has an old tollgate and bridge. There is a nice café/restaurant at one end worth a visit.
