The gardens are amazing, and a lot larger then expected. Save some time to walk around. Would I recommend going? Yes! I enjoyed it more than the Palace itself.

After being inside the Palace, it is refreshing to walk outside and take in the gardens, especially on a beautiful fall day. They are quite beautiful then - and I imagine in other seasons as well. Well worth the visit.

Even if you dont go inside the castle stroll around the gardens. You could spend a day wandering about.

The gardens are huge. And there are several different variations. The centerpiece is the formal garden right behind the palace. But there is a garden for fruit trees, tropical plants and less formal natural gardens.

Any time of year is the perfect time to visit. The manicured lawns and fountains are glorious even without all the meticulous flower gardens. The swiping visitas and intimate gardens allow both for grandeur and quiet spaces to reflect. Give yourself time to enjoy.

The gardens are immaculate and there are many pathways to enjoy. The view from the top of the hill is breathtaking and although a good walk, it is a switchback so the climb is not steep. There is a cafe at the top to rest...More

What a way to while away a day! Really beautiful and make sure to visit the cafe/restaurant on the top of the hill, great views of the city and a wonderful spot to relax with a coffee or beer!

When walking through these beautiful gardens, you are -just for a short time- back in the time of Sissy. A testament to a long forgotten era of beauty, architecture and splendor, only available for a happy few then. Now... everyone can enjoy this beauty.

Such a large and spacious area. Perfectly groomed and maintained. Must see and free to enjoy. Very large so even if there are many people, the area seemed very relaxing

Depending when you go. We went February this year and did the Grand tour of 40 rooms (costing €17.50) which I thoroughly recommend, but there is a longer tour of about 60 rooms or thereabouts. Quite a few things were not... More

Not sure if there are still blooms in October, but even in May, when we were there, not too many can be seen. The greenery and beautiful trees are still worth a visit, we think! Have a good visit!

Don't think you need a ticket for the places outside the palace. There is an entrance at the right side when you face the palace. Everyone just walks in... even locals go there to jog on a regular basis. Don't believe the... More
