I loved my trip to the gorge! Stunning views, beauty of the pristine nature and feeling of being a pioneer! In the gorge is shady and not hot, but a trip to it would take 20-30 minutes under under the scorching sun. You must have...More

Good walking shoes, plenty of water and sun cream.. A beauful hike, lots of flora and fauna, look out for loose rocks(especially if the goats are above you) Although you may have shaded area's, try not to take this on midday, the sun and humidity...More

Amazing place, I would recommend to take water proof shoes or hiking sandals as it is quite wet there, be aware of falling rocks and enjoy the beautiful scenery of this place.

Be aware of the road you choose to get here, because one of them is not accesible from a point (you have to leave the car and walk for about 10 minutes in the hot sun). The views are nice, but it can be really...More

Do go to visit Avakas Gorge, either by landrover trips, or parking on the Akamas, and having nice walk to it. We have walked several times, always enjoy it.

Free parking and a clear path to follow through the gorge. The roads are dirt roads so a 4 wheeled drive is essential or a quad bike. It was particulary busy when we were there so there is some queuing to cross the river via...More
