The complex of gate, moat/ditch gardens, parliament house and, oh, tiny elevator...are a serious, professional, modern-enough renovation. But what the heck are those steel needle/spears on the gate entrance?

My feeling about this are ambivalent. as modern architecture it is quite striking. However it and the parliament buildings rather jar against the rest of the city of Valletta. Modern architecture or historical vandalism? Not sure.

Main thoroughfare into Valletta. Always crowded. Steps on either side up to the battlements and the gardens below.

This is just awesome and if you have a good imagination you can visualize a scene centuries ago approaching the city gate with you army. Loved it as I did all of Valletta. Great place to visit.
