The complex of gate, moat/ditch gardens, parliament house and, oh, tiny elevator...are a serious, professional, modern-enough renovation.But what the heck are those steel needle/spears on the gate entrance?
My feeling about this are ambivalent. as modern architecture it is quite striking. However it and the parliament buildings rather jar against the rest of the city of Valletta. Modern architecture or historical vandalism? Not sure.

Valletta is just beautiful. The main gate is right next to the main bus terminal. Recommend a walk around the city walls including down in the gap between under the main gate which is a public garden. Too many cars as per everywhere on Malta...More
