When coming to Malta, make this a must visit place. There is a ticket which gives you access to the Catacombs, the Roman Villa, the National Museum, and the sightseeing train: Mdina & Rabat Cultural Experience for 15 Euros adults and 7 Euros children. Excellent...More

This was one stop on a shore excursion tour. As a group, we only had a short time to visit. We were able to read and see some details in the small museum entrance. We had a knowledgeable guide to discuss what we were seeing...More

It was open day when we visited so free entry. Well worth the entrance fee anyway, this place is HUGE and hard to believe how vast it spreads beneath the city. Don’t miss it if you’re in the area

If you are interested in archaeology, you should absolutely go! There is a large number of smaller catacombs that you have access to with the entrance fee, and some even have skeletal remains, original graffiti and decorations and signs of who were buried there. The catacombs...More

I really love this site, although it can imagine it getting a bit repetitive if you’re not that into ancient history and/or archaeology. Well worth the entry fee with a good mixture of modern interpretation pavilions dotted around the site. I’d give the video at...More

These catacombs are extensive and well preserved, but one has the impression that they may be of more interest to serious students than to the casual tourist visitor. Accessibility and signage are not particularly good, though the small visitor centre has some useful exhibits and...More

Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. As you can imagine they are small and you will need to stoop and squeeze to get in, not wheelchair friendly!

Very interesting to see and hear the history. You may have issues in the smaller catacombs across the street if you are uncomfortable in small spaces. Stop to watch the intro video. The 3D experience was very cool.

A nice intro visitor center/ museum to set the stage for understanding then you may go into several underground tombs. Steep steps and low lighting, so be careful. It helps to have a guide to explain what you are seeing and to point out lightly...More

Some remains are still there, but others I guess must have been excavated and stored somewhere else.
