This beautiful building was built in 1874 and is located by the Kongens Nytorv square. A new ultramodern Opera House across the canal was inaugurated in January 2005. So the old one is called now the Old Stage. There are still opera and ballet performances....More

We booked a 1 1/2 hour tour of this beautiful theater at their website. We learned so much while seeing all aspects of the space including the back stage operations and the rooms where costumes are made and fitted. Highly recommended!

Very impressive building with a doomed roof and on the first floor there is a balcony. The architecture is really outstanding. A must see when in Copenhagen.

What a fabulous building standing majestically with such beautiful glamour. Would have loved to have seen a performance in here as I think it would be magic - even better to perform in it. Wow

Managed to get tickets for Alice in Wonderland...amazing performance, stunning costumes. The theater itself is magnificent. Came here a lot before migrating to AUS, wanted to show my teenage daughter (who’s a dancer) how beautiful this place is...

Went here to use the toilet, but impressed with the interior and more importantly the views as dusk fell. Bar and restaurant looking out over the water were atmospheric and warm.

I wanted to write a quick review to give other travelers the information I was looking for before I went. It runs warm inside, so don't bother with the sweater. Also, you are instructed to keep your jackets outside of the auditorium on coat hooks....More

This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its
blend of charming old buildings and bold new
architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well
as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner
city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which
consists of three buildings, two of which are new and
situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and
