For the fit people the 285 steps to get from the port to Fira will let you avoid the queues for the cable car or the ferry to Oia. And for a couple of Euros you can get a bus to Oia every 30 minutes...More

When you arrive, it’s chaos. Hundreds of people trying to find their way and where to go because there are no signs and such. Nothing is modernized. It’s such a shame for a world known destination yet the port is so unorganized. When you arrive,...More

I have been to Santorini before and nothing has changed. The ferry port is a mess. absolute confusion for anyone not familiar with the Greek way of doing things. It is always under construction with no improvement. The best thing to do is just expect...More

The port is unorganised, under construction and the one cafe we walked into named Kallisti asked us to leave because we only ordered 3 coffees, one tea, 3 waters and they told us it wasnt enough as there was 7 of us and there is...More

It is mindblowing to think that the greeks were among the most modern and innovative civilizations 4000 years ago, and on some points they haven’t moved an inch since. I mean, they invented the bloody democracy! If you book a transfer to the port, you...More

As far as ports goes, this is one of the busiest I have ever been to. It's not really set up well for the number of ferries/people that use the port but I noticed there was construction going on so they might be extending it...More

I thought Genoa or Naples to be the most trafficked and disorganised harbor I've ever seen. My list is now updated. Terminals are a kind of a joke, almost inevitable a queue under a big sun and hot heatwave, which amid the smog and great...More

I arrived in Santorini by ferry from Paros. The port in Paros was organized and not over crowded. I had never traveled the islands by ferry before and was impressed on how easy it was to depart from Paros. That all changed when we arrived...More

After spending 4 days in Santorini, we took the ferry from Athinios Port to Mykonos. Travelling to Athinios Port is an "adventure" by itself - traffic congestion as bad as any city in the world but here, it is only a short distance to a...More

You can take a local bus into Fira for approx 2.30€. And rent a car from Fira. People will try and make you pay loads for a shuttle into town but the local bus usually comes every 30-40mins. KTEA BUS
