Stayed just off the main street in the old town and loved wandering and exploring the narrow alleyways. So many great restaurants and shops as well as wonderful views and time to just chill.

Nice old town and Venetian Harbour. Lots of the shops sell the same tourist stuff but still worth a visit and explore the narrow alleys.

A visit to Rethymnon’s old town is a must: just start your walk from the port’s tourist basin full of local restaurants all along the quay. And don’t hesitate to deviate during your walk from the most crowdy streets full of tourists. It’s really worth...More

Delightful little streets in the old town with lots of shops and boutiques selling almost everything. There is a nice vibe about the place and lots of places to eat and drink are available to recover from your shopping or walking.

Very nice place to visit with kids and family. This place is also very romantic. I suggest you visit this place on a sunny day. The Old City is very close to Aquila Rithymna hotel Beach Resort.

Great place to wander around, the harbour restaurants are worth a walk through but be prepared to invited into each and every restaurant as you walk through. Recommend parking in the harbour car park, small charge. We ate in four different venues and didn’t have...More

Caught the bus from Chania to Rethymnon. We walked around the outside of the town along the sea wall, then headed into the winding streets of the town, we zigzagged from the harbour trying to cover as many of the streets as possible, some are...More

Old Town Rethymno provided the perfect setting for our Cretan wedding and honeymoon. Saint Lazarus Chapel, 14 Patelerou provided the perfect venue for our wedding also. The only downside is the graffiti but this is down in the dark hours by the young while under...More

Narrow cobbled streets closed off to traffic in evenings. Can merrily wander up and down. Pop into shops. Mainly jewellery, local crafts and fashion. Grab an ice cream. Have a cocktail and people watch. Loads of restaurants. Safe for all and lots of families out...More
