This was a fairly large fortress. It was on the Atlantic ocean and the Duro River meet. It’s in fairly rough shape nowadays. It has not been well-maintained and there’s almost no infrastructure to support the tourism but did you let you go in and look around in portions of it.

....... located on the sea front just after the Douro river reaches the Atlantic ocean. A nice place to wander along - an interesting residential area as opposed to a sea front overtly touristy make up. The fortress is historically relevant and has been effectively maintained.
