On a rainy day we spent the time at the Amsterdam Museum. It is very comprehensive and cover the history, people, and the city. There are paintings, videos, and many displays covering the details. There are signs in English and everything is very well done....More

Amsterdam is a marvellous city with an impressive history. However, this is poorly reflected in the museum. I found it tired and a bit forced. Particularly the 20th century bits were overdone, and frankly, boring.

I admit to being genuinely surprised at the Amsterdam Museum’s somewhat low ranking here on TripAdvisor. While this museum may not be as popular or well-known as others in the area, it nevertheless deserves our attention – especially if we’re first-time visitors to the city....More

Really an interesting and involving museum. Many places claim to be “interactive “ but this museum delivers on that promise. I can guarantee that you will learn from the experience. Not cheap at 15 Euros with no discounts but worth it.

A great museum to visit early in the trip. Gives both a historic view of Amsterdam and also some contemporary cultural information. The audio guide was good and the place was not crowded giving us time to really see everything.

Having been to Amsterdam many times, we looked for a place we'd never been, and tried this with a Dutch colleague who had also never been. The audio set is well designed and made it easy to flow through the exhibits in one's own language....More

The museum covered Amsterdam's history from around 1500 - current. There is an audio guide and comes with your entrance price ($15euro) and many displays / exhibits with write-ups. They also have some fun things for kids. Thing is I didn't learn that much. Seems...More

Admission is 15€ and honestly it’s not worth it. It is a boring museum that is difficult to follow. I would only come here if you have a card that gets you in for free such as the I Amsterdam card and you have exhausted...More

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of
tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists
and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the
best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe.
Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops
of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones
Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods
such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring
