This square, a short distance down Via Roma from the Duomo complex, was the center of Roman Florentia. Today it is host to street artists, vendors, numerous restaurants and the carousel. The Hotel Savoy also faces the Piazza. This very busy square is still the...More

Surrounded by a range of historic buildings, and with caf3 and restaurants around the edge, it is a central area through which many people pass en route to other attractions. Other reviewers like to spend time here, but we mainly just passed through a few...More

My favorite place in Florence. It is close to almost all other sights in town and it itself is good for spending couple of hours.

There was a lovely busy buzz around this piazza. Lots of cafes & restaurants and beautiful buildings. It had a beautiful Tuscan atmosphere, & was right in the middle of things everywhere we went - so we passed through a number of times (as it's...More

This busy piazza is a semi-circular piazza at the summit of the Viminal Hill, next to the Termini station. The Via Nazionale was cut through the centre of a building on this hill in 1885 giving it two wings. So porticos around the piazza were...More

This is a really busy part of town, between the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi. Add to this the shoppers and, As a result there is lots of traffic and noise.

The only piazza with a working carousel! It's a lovely piazza, with a lively night life and restaurants all around. We stayed at a B&B here and we walked everywhere from here.

This is a wonderful square with some stunning architecture around it. And as my title says, it can be very busy. That’s the only downpoint though. You should be aware there isn’t much in the way of affordable eatries in the square. A street or...More

Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by
an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city.
The historic center is characterized by the immensity
of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the
brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does
not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni
Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is
enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city

There is an indoor shopping street (wouldn’t call it a mall) about 1 street on the right off of Via Nazionale. There are a few shops but not much of a mall
