We visited Torcello via a two day ticket we bought at the start of our holiday so we could use the ACTV Water Taxis by just having to scan the card each time, and also saving a lot of money. The views on the way...More

This is worth the over crowded water bus to get there. The island has a lot of character, not crowded like the other islands. A few places to eat, and just relax.

Read some negative things, not worth seeing etc. With respect I disagree. Lovely quiet place, few nice looking restaurants tucked among the trees. Has one of only two bridges without a railing- other one being in the Jewish Quarter. Nice old church. (We took the...More

A beautiful island but not too much to see. The basilica is nice .but as usual there is a fee, and if you want to get up the tower there is a second or larger up front fee. We didn’t go up the tower but...More

Can stop in to see the whole thing in about 30 minutes. Coolest thing was a throne you can sit on in a kind of artistic graveyard. You can also go in a church to to a restaurant.

This small and peaceful island is worth visiting. Beautiful church with a good audio tour and lots of sculpture and interest. Easy walking from the ferry and away from the mass of crowds.

Visit the one old church and you are done. No shops- just street vendors, so that is good. A few places to eat. But well worth a visit of 30 minutes or so.

It is beautiful but bring the mosquito spray with you! I’m sitting in Torcello as I type being eaten alive!

We had 3 days of free travel via the Venice card (Venezia Unica City Pass for visitors) and decided to spend the day visiting the 3 main islands just off Venice. The water buses or as they call it Vaporetto is a neat way of...More
