Within the park de Retiro it is a remarkable monument. One can hire boats on the lake infront or have drink in one of the numerous cafe around.

This is one of my favorite places in Madrid. Visiting Parque del Retiro on a Sunday afternoon is like going back in time, such a magic place. The view from this monument all along the park is breathtaking, don't miss it.

This monument is the backdrop to the lake and makes a huge statement. It has an observation deck hidden under the horses which offers great views of the lake.

The statues in the area are cool. I like the way the half circle arches form the area. And in the middle the large column. The lions were my favourites. I couldn't help but think it looked like one of the statues was giving 'The...More

This statue and surrounding statues are glorious. They are especially beautiful from the rowboats. As you move around the pond, the clouds move, the light changes, and the different angles are interesting. It really feels like you’re in a movie or something to be rowing...More

We only viewed it from across the lake. Until now, I didn't know the monument had stairs you could climb. Something I'll have to do if I ever get a chance to go back. Post a review on your visit.
