A very busy station, with access to a few different Metro lines on the lowest level. The main floor has the "N" train that goes to Chateau Versailles. Two floors above that are the Grandes Lignes trains. And it is on that level, Level 2,...More

I read so many negative reviews on Gare Montparnasse, I was afraid to use the Metro. Yes, it's a huge station and a bit chaotic but like all int'l train stations, there are lots of people and most know where they are going and many...More

We travelled with Ouigo from Gare Montparnasse, Hall 2. Worst train exeprience ever. First a lot of stairs, no escalators, and a long way to go from Metro Line 4. Then, for no reason, people (100ds) had to stock to wait for something. Then they...More

Getting to and from the Gar Montparnasse is a bit challenging these days outside of the station as workers have the streets and sidewalks torn up to work underground. Take care when walking towards the shopping center and tall building!

The station is easy to reach from the bus stop for Le Bus Direct, just enter at the nearest entrance, up one flight of steps. The mainline train information displays are good. One small problem, if going to the Metro lines, you have to go...More

We had a couple days here in Paris before taking the train down to Bordeaux. We went into the station, and we were re-directed where to buy tickets (Main Line) when we stopped at the first window. We waited our turn, and had a very...More

We went to this station mainly to see the works of Vasarely on the walls but due to the construction work going on, we could see only one. It is a very big and very busy train station with lots of facilities. You can find...More

We used this station twice last December. The first time when we went to Mont Saint Michel and the second one when we went to Lourdes via TGV for our early morning trip. The whole family felt secured and we easily find our way even...More

We arrived here by taxi. It is not a huge station and there are not many amenities. Plan to arrive about 25 min before your scheduled departure. Be sure you know the LAST stop on your route. For example- we were going to Biarritz, but...More

The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the
landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that
goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas,
brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and
parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away
from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and
historical monuments and treasures. In between lie
adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small
