I've been wanting to visit the tower for years but it's been undergoing restoration for 14 years. Now re-opened for guided tours at the weekend from June to October, minimum age 10. Some tours are in English. There are 300 steps to the top but...More

I thought this was Saint-Chapelle of Ile de la Cite, but was pleasantly surprised to find that it is a extant tower from a previous church of St-Jacques dedicated to the butchers from nearby Les Halles. It served as a departure point for crusades to...More

Tour Saint-Jacques stands alone, since the church to which it belonged was demolished after the French Revolution. It is possible to visit the Tower. A guided tour that lasts around 1h. The visit should be booked on-line and it’s available only in French. We went...More

This Gothic tower, which stands just over 50 metres high, is the only part of the former 16th century Church of Saint-Jacques-de-la-Boucherie (St James of the butchers) that remains the rest having been demolished during the French Revolution in the late 18th century. There is...More

This lovely tower is all that remained from a 16th century church, that was destroyed over 200 years ago. The tower is surrounded by a somehow neglected garden, but it's still a surprising and impressive find.

The Tour Saint-Jacques is an incredible structure that, unfortunately, is surrounded by homeless people and people doing drugs. While this might be the norm to some, if you plan on taking children, you might want to avoid this landmark.

It’s a big tower in the middle of a park. The guide said that is all that is left from an old church. I found it very interesting.

Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris,
Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but
