We really thought this was a great, easy to navigate station, considering it's a major one. We were headed to Caen in Normandy to visit World War 2 Landmarks, and this is how you get there. We didn't have any problems, except for as we...More

Heading for Monet's House and Gardens in Giverny, we made our way by Metro to the Gare St. Lazare. The Metro #14 last stop is Gare St. Lazare, but the Metro station is below the train station. Once you go up to the train level,...More

We were staying near here and VERY worried about navigating the train station to catch the train for a guided tour in Normandy. Overall, it took about 5 minutes to figure out the signs. The Normandy trains are in the 20s (rail/line number) and on...More

We wanted to head to Paris from Le Havre. There were several options, but they were slower or pricier, or they didn't offer enough time in the city. We chose the train, not really knowing what to expect. We had pre-booked, and learned that there...More

If you can, buy your tickets in advance and once you arrive, take a minute to get your bearings and you will find it less confusing. Very convenient and within walking distance of many hotels and shopping center.

Here is where you take the train to Versailles or Giverny. If you need help, the police (always somewhere nearby) in Paris are so helpful and friendly and just a wonderful resource. Make sure you ask first if they speak your language.

After a train trip from Bayeaux, I stayed across the street at the Tim Hotel for one night before moving on. Both my arrival and departure were uneventful.

Don't buy tickets in advance. When you get to the station (arrive early in case you run into any problems), use the kiosk to print tickets. The policemen in the station are a wonderful resource if you need any help.
