Great tour very informative- the education and tasting of the different types of whiskey is really very good, has definitely changed my perception of the drink

This is an absolute must during your visit to Edinburgh. The tour was informative, fun, and efficient, with plenty of time to sit and enjoy a whisky afterwards. Highly recommend!

I absolutely loved this and thought it was well worth the money. The tour is a mix of videos, live narration, and riding through exhibits in a giant whisky barrel ending with a whisky tasting of your choice. In the tasting room there was special...More

We entered with a modest appreciation of Scotch and left with a deeper understanding and better idea of our specific preference for the golden spirit. Our guide Lucy was impressive with her deep knowledge and passion for Scotch whiskey. The interactive format was great for...More

My wife and I stopped in after we visited the castle. We didn’t quite know what to expect, but it was a ton of fun. Learning about the different regions was interesting. My wife tried scotch for the first time and enjoyed it.

My husband and I are NOT whisky drinkers, but thought we should check this out while in Edinburgh. We were so happy we did! We loved the little ride in the "whisky barrel" and the very informative and entertaining panoramic movie about the different whisky...More

I was surprised at how much we learned on this tour. Going in I didn't know anything about scotch whisky and had hardly ever tried it. The tour was very interesting and got us all excited to learn more and experience different types of scotch...More

If you love scotch, you will be overwhelmed by the immensity of their selection. I’m a budding scotch drinker and was there mainly to buy gifts for my brothers. They have a lot of staff to answer questions and provide assistance. One particular staffer helped...More

The host John was the best part, but in general it’s a very generic tour, with some relevant information but nothing that will blow your mind. They use a lot of resources to justify the price - sort of a barrel-ghost-train right at the start,...More

Very informative and educational. We now know which Whisky’s we prefer. Thoroughly recommend this tour for any Whisky or non-Whisky lover.

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the

At this time of year, out of the main peak you probably wouldn't need to book. However, if you want to guarantee your place on a particular tour/experience it could be worth ringing ahead to check availability. Hope this... More

Hi Stuart, we tend to advise booking in advance if you're a larger group (and if there's availability online), but you can just show up without a booking. After around 2pm there's a wee bit of a queue but if you're with us... More
