A bit of a climb but the views in all directions from the Tor are well worth the effort. You get a sense of our green and pleasant land

An imposing and iconic location standing proud over the Somerset levels. Having spent the morning picking apples in National Trust run Avalon Orchard we the decided to climb to the top of the tor. This is a steep climb, but once at the top you...More

It is definitely worth the walk to the top but only able bodied. There are benches to rest if you don't feel you can make it the whole way. Those who walk the spiral with the sheep really get a challenge.

There is a wonderful energised satisfaction once you get to the top. A sense of achievement. It’s not an easy ascent or decent if you struggle a bit. We definitely felt it after! Amazing panoramic views. (We had also visited during the Blood Moon) Mystical,...More

Beautiful 360 views are worth the total 3.25 hike. It was quite the hike for a middle aged overweight lady but it was totally worth it.

A short (approx 15min) walk from the base to the Tor atop the hill. Good steps, and a beautiful view from the top. Worth the short trek if you are fit enough.

Steep climb up to the tower but definitely worth it, if only for the view. There were lots of people chanting, meditating and banging drums which added to the mystic. Walked down the other side which was a little easier and then into the town.

I would allow 45 min to 1 hr. there are steps that lead the way and benches scattered throughout before reaching the st. michael's tower so one might sit a while to rest and absorb the view
