The current bridge dates from the 70s, when the old one was dismantled and sold to an american city that rebuilt it there. It's not an attraction in itself, but it's so famous that if you're in the vicinity you should cross it. :-)
Walked around London Bridge recently with my partner as was having dinner nearby. We wanted to get a feel for London we living near we not really ever been tourists in our own city.

We can view tower bridge from this location. Those views are taken at London bridge. As nothing note worthy is there at London bridge. This is simple bridge only.
Your concern is correct but still we don't have choice.
