Great place to visit & see the locks. Still in good working condition from way back in the day , due to them being built by the British of course!

This gorgeous view of the Ottawa river from the top of the canal is a must see. Watching watercraft move from section to section is exciting .

The walkway along the Canal is a true experience, for those who can skate, experiencing this in the winter is very memorable! For those who run, it is incredible. We had a beautiful sunny day and throughly enjoyed.

Every season is wonderful on the canal. From boating to ice skating, this canal, totally man made, winds through Ottawa. Kayaking, canoeing or larger boats, this waterway is beautiful.

We had a very pleasant, but easy walk through the city, along the canal which ended with a series of locks leading down to the river.

The Canal is a lovely interesting place to walk , very relaxing flat walk. Nice to see the locks which are all working. Plenty of places to take a rest and sit and enjoy.

It connects Canada's capital city of Ottawa, Ontario, to Lake Ontario and the Saint Lawrence River at Kingston, Ontario. It still works today. Beautiful.

Hello! I am not a strong skater by any means and sat down to have snacks at the different stops along the way and it took about 2.5 hours to go 7.8km there then another 7.8km back! Definitely a fun day/afternoon activity... More
