I walked down to the sea from Jiufen, and while the effect didn't exactly match a ying-yang, the thing that bothered me was that it's a basically a tourist site because of the toxic runoff from the mining operation. What was cooler is looking away...More

My driver brought us to Yinyang Sea after visiting Jiufen Old Street. Stayed there appreciating the beauty for about 15 minutes before we head to the next stop. Loved the scenery there.

Always nice to see the sea but perhaps better to go in the sun...you can’t actually get down to the seashore easily either

There is a parking lot across the shore where our driver stopped and you can walk onto a platform to take photos. Other than that, not much to see.

A simple place for shooting section. Very windy. However, you must take extra care when you take photo since it just next to roadside.

As part of our itinerary to Jiufen, we made the obligatory stop. This is a pretty photo opportunity. I don't know if there is still mining going on, but there is a section, landside, that looks like contaminated water is flowing from the mountains to...More

We had 5 min photo stop (which is adequate) of the golden hue with blue sea. Can get nice panoramic photos. No one swims there as the water is unsafe due to heavy metals that provided the colour.

Our local driver stopped at a bus stop for us to admire the distinct bicolour sea. The gold water is contained with minerals which flowed from the nearby Golden Waterfall, another interesting sight to visit. You'll spend no more than 15 minutes here

This is located on the back hill of Jiufen. Instead of stopping along the beach front, my family went to a high vintage point to have a overview of this beach front. From here, you can see the distinct separation of sea water by different...More
