We heard a lot about this event. So we visited it. Other than the peacock dance, it was a thorough disappointment.

I was so overwhelmed to see the unique culture and lifestyle of the Tharu people up close. The way they have conserved their traditions is just amazing. Cultural dance program from this community is must for every traveler who intends to visit Chitawan National Park.

They host a 1 hour show starting at 8 PM in the theatre. Many students and some adults are performing local dances. I would recommend to go and help them supporting their families.

You forget this is a third world country. All the locals were happy, clean and expect full of our curiosity. They live in conditions which would frighten Americans, but perform their daily functions with glee

The museum is small but tells you about the Tharu people. It was very hot in the museum. We also watched the culture show with dancing.
