Wow where does one start when chatting about such an amazing area, swap from dry arid surroundings to lush green watering holes to spellbinding gorges. Great visit

The landscape is pretty flat as you drive through the park but rivers have cut a number of gorges, some of which intersect and the rocks that are revealed are colourful and fascinating. It was cold for swimming in June but there are several pools...More

Fabulous territory. Best to go in fully equipped rather than relying on one restaurant. Sure of foot is necessary and a backpack for snacks and meals.

By far, this must be one of the finest natural creations on this planet. Alone, Karijini outshines the other three internationally famous regional National Parks (Kennedy Range, Mt Augustus and Millstream Chichester) put together. Allow a minimum of three full days to fully experience what...More

I haven’t been to Karijini since I was quite young. I loved reliving it again. The scenery is amazing, something beautiful to wake up to every day. The gorges are spectacular. So worth the effort to get out and see WA

This is a beautiful park with many gorgeous gorges! Some places have beautiful lookouts, others require longish walks to the bottom of the gorge. We stayed at Karijini Eco Resort for two nights, so had a full day exploring.

Karijini does not disappoint. It is beautiful, rugged, harsh and fascinating. The colours of rock formations with plant life on a blue sky backdrop, provides such natural beauty. Go see it but plan for the harsh climate and trek in/out and during or book a...More

We spent a few days doing walks with our primary school aged kids. We really enjoyed it. Most of the walks are quite difficult but the gorges and waterholes are amazing. The Hamersley Gorge walk was pretty short with spectacular rocks and waterholes (quite a...More

Paraburdoo is probably the closest airport to Karjini

it's probably a bit closer to Tom Price than Newman. Dales is the further entrance into Karijini from Tom Price, but it's still only 80kms all up from town to Dales whereas Newman is nearly 400kms from Tom Price.

I would go for Tom Price too. The campsite (which has private cabins too) is a delight, with a lovely pool and pink parakeets!
