Yes, the buildings left by the pre-Hispanic inhabitants of El Tajin are impressive and fun to walk through and marvel at. But the way this archeological site is managed is horrible - the worst I've been to in Mexico. - There are almost no signs...More

Most unique pyramids. So glad we went out of our way to see these. Felt like we had the place to ourselves to explore.

More Ruins more to learn a new smarter tribe with amazing archeological talents. The city is beautiful but sadly did not survive due to over population and the high priest was not able to provide for the large community.

This site is a short taxi ride from Papantla and while being quite popular with Mexican tourists, is almost unknown to foreigners. Hence it's a good contrast to some of the Yucatan sites. A bonus at weekends is the hourly performance of the voladores, who...More

A very unique archeological site sitting in the middle of hills and trees with some of America’s oldest history and very uncommon building techniques. Some areas even having a slight resemblance to Mitla in Oaxaca. The view of the main pyramid from the highest view...More

I loved this place, there is around 40 buildings (pyramids) full of history. You can walk around the place and you can see the forest just beside it. You have the great combination between ancient history and the great and powerfull tropical forest.

This sight is quite interesting as the main pyramid is full of little niches, making it quite unique. One can go with a tour but I recommend driving, if possible, as it is an easy drive and allows you freedom to wonder around at your...More
