Driving through the top end termite mounds are everywhere. It was a great stop though to see the difference between species and read some information. You can pose for a photo with one of the cathedral mounds for size perspective. Free to visit, as everything...More

You see a lot of termite mounds on the way out so think why is this so special! The magnetic termites are very unique to Australia....my husband described them as the nerds of termites.

The termite mounds in the area are fascinating and demonstrate just how clever the inhabitants are by building their homes to face the magnetic poles to keep the mounds cool, and to build them high to keep them above the water during the wet season....More

The mounds are contained for easy reach in this spot. Many people stop off during the transit of the park to view the termite mounds and by doing so run the risk of car accident, injury and disruption on the local park area. The best...More

This is a quick stop, with a walkway with good signs explaining why these mounds are built from north to south. Interesting and enjoyed this.

It was simply amazing to see what termites can do. And in this area, the termites mounds are huge and there is a reason for this, rainfall, lots of it. When you drive north from say Alice Springs you start to see small mounds here...More
