This is a hidden gem. The day we visited there were fewer than 10 people other than our group. Beautiful preservation and easy walking. Digs are continuing. The mosaics are amazing. The included museum is small but interesting. There is a nice snack bar on...More

The villa of the fountains shows the exquisite mosaics, and is beautifully restored. the site as a whole is huge and there is also a delightful museum showing delicate items. We caught a bus from outside the Railway station in the Centre of Coimbra. Because...More

It's worth investing the small sum for the little guide book which explains that the huge wall you see running through the middle of the site was created by knocking down all the buildings outside the area they wanted to defend and using the stones...More

We reached these ruins by UBER from Coimbra. It was raining off and on, but much of the ruins have a roof, so we weren’t bothered too much by the rain. In fact, the rain on the outside mosaic floors brought out their wonderful colors....More

The former settlement, largely known for its Roman phase, is very large, but only a part is exploited touristically. The staff was kind. The buildings, baths, mosaics are impressive. We really felt like going back in time.

The size of these Roman ruins and the preservation of the mosaic floors are incredible. The museum gives important history and additional artifacts. The price is well worth it.

The ruins are outstanding and very well presented. The mosaics are very nice and you can easily imagine how nice the houses were, specially the house of the fountains. I would have like an audio guide or a more detailed guide. We are in Portugal...More

We have visited the ruins several times and I still marvel at the size of this site and the way the colours of the Mosaic floors pop. I also love to look beyond the temple to the lumps and bumps of the adjoining unexplored fields...More

These ruins will blow you away. The mosaics and implements used all those years ago will leave you speechless. We never had a guide and could work our what each ruin was through the well explained signage, although I'm sure a tour guide would fill...More

I couldn't find a local bus. We (four of us) went by taxi and called another one from the museum when we left. Not as inexpensive as public transport would be but much more reasonable than tours. I can't remember exactly how... More
