Very nice village dominated by the castelli. You get a great picture spot if you approach it from the west.

Not quite as packed with tourists as other villages on Santorini, full of twisty passageways and stairs with beautiful views out toward the ocean. Lots of shops with quirky tchotchkas to take home. Be sure to look up from the main square as that might...More

We just drove to the town and strolled around the alleys. An interesting shop selling hand crafted purses and bow ties made of cork (applied/pressed with thin material .. intriguing) Interesting shots of the blue domes churches, the bells and some interesting gates.

We ate lunch in pyrgos before walking up the hill to the Castelli. Beautiful streets and buildings, and the sense of being in a different time. Worth visiting.

Very pretty town in an elevated position south of Oia. Good parking, its on a hill and has great view across the whole island. We stopped for coffee and a snack At Francos.

We stopped in Pyrgos a cute little village on the way to the airport. We climbed up the steps to the Castilli. It has very good views and lots of little cafes and restaurants. It was nice here after the busy crowds in Fira

Pyrgos is a very picturesque small town, huddled on a hilltop, which offers beautiful pictures of the island. There are not many things to say about the castle because there is no castle. All that remains are a few ruins, not very impressive. But Pyrgos...More
