We took the local 22 bus just opposite the Croatia National Theatre in Split. It takes around 40 minutes to reach the hilltop township of Klis. The fortress is an easy walk from the bus stop. Entry is 40 HRK and you are provided with...More

You almost feel like you're up there helping the soldiers watching out over the [beautiful] terrain and sea. It is very well maintained and the restored parts are very authentic. Lots of walking and steps but worth it.

Although there is a museum that highlights the history of the fort, it's not really promoted, instead it focuses on Game of Thrones. The fortress is beautiful, although one needs to be careful the safety measures are shabby. The view from the top is extraordinary...More

We took the Game of Thrones tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. The guide made the scenes come to life. An very ancient but well preserved piece of history.

You can enjoy view from the top of fortress here. Nothing much but it gives you fort background for your instagram. Walking & climbing is not too tough for senior people.

I went with a group of GOT enthusiasts. We got there right when it opened and had it almost all to ourselves for the first hour. It is decently preserved and historically pretty interesting even aside from the GOT references. I have to say, though,...More

If you're a Game of Thrones fan you MUST visit this place. The fortress itself is really impressive and there are incredible views of split. As for the Thrones stuff, there are numerous scenes you can submerge yourself in, it's also impressive to note how...More

I took the local bus up the mountain really easily. Nice view of the surrounding area from the fortress walls and interesting details about the fortress inside. You can explore the entire area and climb up the different levels. I didn't find I had to...More

In fact I do not know the regularity because, in fact, it depends on the season. On summer time you have more buses..
