Overview
Take a walk in the clouds with this hanging bridge canopy tour at Monteverde’s Selvatura Park. Observe treetop life from the vantage point of eight suspended bridges that rise up to 180 feet (60 meters) above the forest floor. Costa Rica’s widest bridges make for a safe and comfortable way to explore the magnificent cloud forest that’s suitable for all ages.
What to Expect
Choose from four daily tour times during booking, and on the day of the tour make your way to Selvatura Park, an adventure and nature park inside Costa Rica’s famous Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Ascend into the rain forest canopy for a peaceful hike along a series of hanging bridges that criss-cross different levels of this incredibly rich ecosystem.

Follow the 1.9-mile (3-km) trail at your own pace, stopping to admire the aerial views and catch sight of native plant and animal life along the way. With a comfortable width of 5 feet and a capacity of 80 people each, these are the widest bridges in Costa Rica, as well as the longest and strongest in Monteverde. This system consists of eight bridges ranging in length from 150-510 feet (50-170 meters) and in height from 36-180 feet (12-60 meters) above the forest floor.

Expect the circuit to take between 1.5 and 2 hours to complete, depending on your preferred pace. Suitable for all ages, the hanging bridges canopy tour is an immersive yet relaxed way to experience Monteverde's marvelous cloud forest.

Good tour, but something of a letdown after the Cloud Forest tour

The concept of the hanging bridges is that they bring you to the level of the wildlife, who live in the canopy. From our tour, I would say that this doesn't really occur. Most of the wildlife that we saw was while we were on...More

Brilliant activity but quite physically challenging

We thoroughly enjoyed walking on the hanging bridges in the tree canopy. It was a very different experience being at the top of the trees. My knees are not very good and I found all the ups and downs quite challenging but wouldn’t have missed...More

A great way to see the forest canopy

I was reluctant at first to go on the hanging bridges, due to my fear of heights. However, it turned out to be a delightful experience, and totally not scary. The bridges are very secure, though they sway a bit due to the movement of...More

Expensive walk in forest in the rain

$35 to walk through a forest in the rain. We saw some monkeys and a few birds but nothing else. Compared to other offerings in the area it is too expensive for too little return.

Cost too much for what it is

The forest itself is stunning and the bridges are a great way to see the forestry. However, we paid 35 usd to walk ourselves through the track where we didn’t see any wildlife or have a guide/ free lunch. On many other tours you’re paying...More
