highly recommendable, i took a tour (in fact an "4x4 expedition"), and let me tell you it was an incredible and unforgeteable experience, we 'd visit the Dunes of Jalapao (dunes, river, palm trees, mountains, desert...just in the middle of the jungle, look for pics on the internet and you will be in "i had to see that" mode), the Sussuapara Canion, many Fervedouros (kind of natural pools), many cachoeiras (like small falls), and more, on a 3 days 2 nights expedition, Service from the guides was exceptional, friendly, and very helpfull (they even stop the truck if you need to take a picture, even if you dont ask them tough), food was in restaurants with a home made style but really good, really brazillian, and we spend the nigh in regular nothing fancy (but OK++ for any traveller expectations) hotels with private rooms with private WC/shower, TV, AC, etc, price for the 3 and 4 days tours was ok if you think everything is included (acommodation, food, guides, etc)...if you go to Brazil, visit Jalapao, not many foreigners had been there, and then go to the many beaches Brazil has to offer to relax in the shore...advice? bring credit/debit cards that works abroad, Brazil is a highly bancarized country and could be difficult some times to find exchange currency offices....anyway "travel is about falling in love on every step", so fall in love with Jalapao!
