We enjoyed a fabulous day out with Nick despite the inclement weather. He picked us up from our accommodation at the agreed time and we felt very comfortable straight away with his warm, personable approach and in depth knowledge of wine, the area including the vineyards. We concentrated on the Pouilly Fume region in the morning which included a tasting session. Nick then took us to a lovely authentic restaurant for lunch and then we carried on to the Sancerre region. Another great tasting session followed by yet another one in Sancerre itself. All the tasting sessions were very informative and we came away with a few bottles to show for it. Nick then returned us safely to our accommodation. Would highly recommend.

What an amazing day out in Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé! Not only is Nick incredibly knowledgeable about the wine varieties and the history of the region, he was a lot of fun too! From the moment we exchanged emails regarding which trains to take from Paris I knew it was going to be a great day. Nick got everything in that we wanted to taste and see, and more. What an incredible day. I’ve already recommended Nick to a number of friends traveling to the area and can’t wait for the day I can make it back to France to tour a new region with him. Merci beaucoup for one of my favorites days of our trip.

This tour was a highlight of our entire trip! Nick is charming, friendly, and knowledgeable. He took us to wineries and restaurants we never would have found on our own and each was exceptional. Absolutely fantastic and highly recommended!

We booked with Nick for Burgundy after the wonderful two day experience in Sancerre/ Puilly Fumé a couple of years ago. Nick picked us up at our hotel and took us to wineries carefully selected based i. Our taste and knowledge of Burgundian wines — from village wines to the Grand Crus, white and red. The first day was in Chablis where we stopped for lunch at Les Trois Bourgeons, excellent French food with a Japanese flair. The second day was in the Cote de Beaune surrounds. Nick is very knowledgeable not just about the wines and wineries but the history and geography of the places and owners, driving us through the beautiful countryside in a very comfortable van. He’s been doing this for many years so personally knows the winemakers which is big plus in the welcome we received at the wineries we went to and the quality of the wines we got to taste. And then of course he helps us with shipping the wine to the US. Highly recommend. Hoping he’ll cover a few more wine regions in the near future.

I would highly recommend this tour. Nick did a wonderful job of selecting the best wineries in the area for tastings and an education on French wines. Each wine maker shared the winery’s history and a bit on their wine making process. We started in the quaint town of Auxerre and made our way to the lovely town of Tonnerre with an excellent lunch on the way. The wine was great-easy to purchase along the way. Very manageable trip from Paris by train.

We didn't know what to expect given most people prefer to visit Champagne or Burgundy over Sancerre, but we love Sancerre and found Nick through TripAdvisor. He was incredible! He catered our tour to let us taste as much variety as possible from smaller to larger production vineyards and knows the region very well. We were able to easily purchase wine and have it shipped through him as well. Nick also is so fun and friendly and well educated - he was also able to translate for us and allow us to have conversations with the winemakers themselves. Would definitely do again if we can come back!

Great day out learning about the wines of Chablis region and a bit of sight seeing. Nicholas was a great chauffeur and guide. We visited a range of different wine growers. We were particularly interested in visiting a vineyard that friends had told us about and he made a call so we could make a special trip there.

Nick is very knowledgeable -- not just about wine, but also of history and culture -- and a lot of fun to be with. We had sent him a list of wineries we were interested in and he managed to get us into several of them for in-depth conversations with wine makers. His comfortable, air-conditioned car was a big plus on some of the hottest days in the area. Can't wait to do the Chablis area with him, next.

Nick is very knowledgeable and and excellent tour guide. We had a wonderful time going through the Burgundy wine region tasting wine and a fantastic lunch at a place Nick had pre arranged. The wines Nick showed us were really enjoyable as we're the people he introduced us to. This man and the tour deserve to be much better rated. Fantastic day !!

Nick’s 30 year experience living in France and the area was invaluable. He was an expert not only at navigating the snowy roads, but also on some stunning lesser known and small producer wines, the regional food scene and some local characters. And combining his knowledge with good humour was the icing on the cake. Would highly recommend his private tour.

Nick took us on an insightful and exciting full day tour of the Burgundy wine region. We were unfamiliar with the region and left the tour up to Nick's discretion and he did not disappoint. We started the day touring through the countryside and various vineyard plots while learning about terroir and the two grape varietals of the region. Nick took care of payments during the day and we paid in complete at the end of the day. This took a lot of stress off of us and allowed us to enjoy the tastings, scenery and experiences. Nick was very familiar with the wineries that we visited and was able to get us some behind the scenes tours and got us to taste some Grand Cru wines. Nick was able to make this a very special and personal experience as opposed to most wine tours we've gone on. Nick did a great job of making our trip very entertaining and insightful. The time really flew by and we were not ready for the day to be over since we felt like there was so much more we could learn. We learned so much about the region, French history, and wine history making us appreciate all the work that goes in to making these wines. We had great day, tasting great wines, with great conversation, with a great guy. Can't wait to do it again!

If you are a wine enthusiast I highly recommend Grapes & Corks wine tours. It was one of the most wonderful times we had during our visit to France. We had the pleasure of spending the day with Nick, our charming wine guide! He chauffeured us about the stunning French countryside through sprawling valleys of vineyards and winding roads through quiet little towns in the Chablis wine region. We met with many delightful characters as we toured the various winemaker’s cellars, including one that looked like a dungeon in the middle ages complete with “moldy” walls and rows and rows of old aged barrels. It was very cool! We had a delicious charcuterie spread for lunch and had a fun afternoon being “guinea pigs” for an adorable vintner who wanted to practice her English! And of course we tasted some delicious French wine!! (Our new favorite comes from the Irancy region.) I can’t say enough good things about Nick who is so kind and generous a person. He is very knowledgeable about the wine and also about the general history of the area. It was all so fascinating and I was very sad when it was time to part ways and head back to the train station. I would have happily stayed in the country for our entire trip! It was so beautiful! Thanks again Nick, for showing us such a good time! Maybe we will look you up next time we are in France and we will see how that Guédelon Castle is coming along. Cheers!
