This app was great. We learned the history of Yellowstone National park and stopped along the way to take pictures at our leisure. The fact that this app worked offline was great since there is little or no service available at Yellowstone. Would definitely recommend this app. You hear the same tour as if you paid hundreds of dollars to take a bus/group tour.

Loved the audio tour. It’s nice to do things at your own pace and you can pick and choose which places to stop or skip. Nice history lessons behind the stops, I learned a lot of interesting facts. One tip would be to start the tour before you lose internet service in remote park areas. I downloaded the offline map but since I did not start the tour before going into the park and losing internet connection, I could not open the app. This happened for the Yellowstone audio tour, same company, but I was able to use the grand Teton audio tour with no problem. I also like that the tour is mine to keep and I can reuse whenever. Great inexpensive alternative to spending a couple hundred bucks on a hired in-person tour.

This was an awesome tour of Yellowstone. We only had a day and didn’t want to miss anything. The great thing is that you could do it in one day or four depending on what you stop at to explore. I loved the history and tidbits it provided. Awesome tour!

The tour and information were good, however, our signal in most of the park was so poor that it worked about 20% of the time. I had purchased a data plan on my Apple iPad Air and downloaded the app and maps prior to entering the park. It’s a big download, took 15 minutes on the hotel WiFi. The tour started off well at the south entrance, then our vehicle was lost to the program. It found us, again, at the Old Faithful area. We stopped and walked the area, so that was not supported by the tour. When we left that area, we again lost the signal or it lost us and we were never able to sync with the tour. I’m not sure if the problem is our AT&T cellular data plan or the lack of signal strength in the areas of the park away from the “main” tourist areas. For most of our time in Yellowstone we had 0 bars indicating signal strength. No phone service, no cell data plan, only smoke signals would have worked. Maybe Shumers’ infrastructure bill will provide $ to bring communication in the National Parks into the 21st century. Or not.

This has to be the best idea that was ever thought of!!!
Once downloaded, the tour is very accurate on location without internet access.
It was very thorough and extremely educational.
Had we not used this self-driving audio tour, we would have not known where to go or know what we were looking at.
I highly recommend this tour!!!!!

Are the driving directions provided “live” by the GPS similar to MAPS on my car or pre-set ?

Preset. The narration comes on with the GPS coordinates so it is telling you what is there as you arrive to the scene. Zion national Park worked great, but Bryce and Yellowstone not so much.

The National Park Service’s website has the most up-to-date info on admissions, prices (if any), and other types of tickets. This is not a ticket; it’s a self-guided tour.

The tour is still valid! It will work from the minute you book and be accessible forever. Simply download the app and enter your password. You’ll see a few versions of the tour within — each one based on which entrance you plan to use. Download whichever one makes sense for you (or all if you’re not sure which entrance you’ll use). Feel free to check out the map or stories now. By the time you get to Yellowstone, you won’t have anything to worry about.

Actually, you can spend as much or as little time at each stop as you like! Since this is a self-guided tour, starting and stopping is entirely up to you.
