Overview
Get the best possible views of the Albuquerque area without the expense of a helicopter tour. By heading out at sunrise in a hot air balloon, you'll be able to watch and snap photos as the sun's first rays fall on the dramatic landscape of the Sandia Mountains. Dip low over the mighty Rio Grande while listening to commentary on the area's geology and environment from your pilot. Then land for breakfast and sparkling wine.
What to Expect
Greet the day bright and early to catch the sunrise from your hot air balloon. Drive yourself to the balloon operator's downtown headquarters, or arrange for pickup at your hotel (additional expense).

Get the opportunity to watch the balloon be inflated before stepping on board; you can help the crew if a hands-on experience appeals to you. Listen to a safety briefing and take off for aerial views of the city, the Sandia Mountains, and the Rio Grande. A hot air balloon experience allows you amazing views without the expense of booking a helicopter or flight tour, and there's no glass between you and the landscape. Listen to your pilot's commentary on the region's cultural, geological, historical, and environmental aspects.

Land after about an hour for a continental breakfast and a glass of sparkling wine and then leave your experience with a commemorative flight certificate in hand.

Great ride

Had an outstanding balloon ride on Friday 10/26. The pilot, Alfred was superb. Kept us in the loop during the entire ride. Beside providing us with an outstanding experience he introduced us to a couple on new champagne cocktails.

You should be able to have your questions answered by the staff of Rainbow Ryders. We had 13 people in the basket with an average weight of 200 pounds. Still, contact the staff.

Rosie B, you should go to their website, check their availability during the Balloon Fiesta and make the reservation. I'd think you can also call to inquire and reserve.
