What to expect
After pickup from downtown hotels, your Salt Lake City sightseeing tour starts with a visit to the State Capitol Building, followed by a stop at Old Deseret Village, aka Pioneer Village, and a chance to see part of the historical Mormon Trail. Continue to Temple Square, where you can explore the gardens and enjoy a live recital in the Salt Lake Tabernacle, also known as the Mormon Tabernacle, famous for its organ—one of the largest in the world with 11,623 pipes—and for being the home of the world-renowned Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Next, head to the Lion House, the old pioneer home of Brigham Young, Utah’s first governor, the founder of Salt Lake City and a former leader of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This 1856 building is now a restaurant where you can enjoy lunch (own expense). After lunch, pass by more Salt Lake City sights like Fort Douglas, the University of Utah, the Pony Express Monument, some of the city’s oldest mansions and churches, and sites from the 2002 Winter Olympics such as Olympic Legacy Plaza, Olympic Village, the Cauldron and Olympic Stadium. Your tour then ends with hotel drop-off downtown.

A great tour of Salt Lake City
Jul 2021 • Couples
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Michael. He was such a gentleman and so knowledgeable about the city. He kept everything on schedule to make sure we made it to the Tabernacle for the first organ recital since March of 2020. The recital was wonderful and was the icing on the cake. I would highly recommend the tour to anyone visiting Salt Lake City.

I would have liked more time outside the bus at various locations. I don't think we needed a half hour at the Pioneer Park. Simply a gift shop stop. I don't know why we stopped at the Catholic church. We stopped at the RR station coz Disney used it as a model in his theme parks. So I would rate this a so-so event. The bus was air conditioned and it was hot. And the trip wasn't that expensive. And I did learn something.

The only time on the bus is traveling from point to point. Almost 2 hours are off the bus touring and taking pictures. Pioneer Park has a visitor's center, many pioneer buildings to explore and a gift shop. The gift shop is a favorite for some people looking for souvenirs. The train station stop is a favorite for most tourists.

Perfect overview of SLC!
Jun 2021
The tour was a perfect way to get an overview of everything I wanted to see in Salt Lake City! Our tour guide, Michael, was a wealth of knowledge and entertaining. I went with my mother and 2 kids (ages 10 and 8) and we were all very grateful for the air conditioned tour and educational commentary! Definitely recommend!

Very Informative Tour
May 2021
Not being familiar with the city, we decided to book a guided tour. Our guide proved to be very knowledgeable and friendly. The bus was very comfortable. We saw the highlights of the city and were delighted with the running commentary. Some areas were closed due to Covid concerns, but our visit to the State Capitol Building was truly eye opening. I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to visit the sights of the city.

Grreat tour!
Great tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us plenty of facts about the history of SLC. We weren't able to go into the Tabernacle because it was closed due to Covid but at least we were able to see it from outside. One of the girls that worked there showed us the inside through one of the windows. This was a great way to see the city.

Website description inaccurate.
Jun 2021 • Couples
Disappointed that we did not see the organ recital as stated on their website. It is EASY to update a website. We understand it was cancelled because of covid, but just update the website.....then we wouldn't be disappointed.

Old brochures are circulating with the organ recital listed as an event. Our website has been updated for a very very long time. The guides specifically emphasize that there is a substitute visit on the tour to make up for an issue which is out of control. The recital is a very small portion of a 3-hour tour.

Tour guide was great
The tour guide was great on this tour but we did not get to have lunch.. And we did not get to do the Tabernacle because of construction so I think you ought to put this on your website because that's why I took the tour... Otherwise I could have drove myself... But I did learn a lot from the tour guide..

We are sorry you received outdated information about the tour. Our website (toursofutah.com) explains clearly the scope and sites that we visit during this 2 1/2 hour overview tour of Salt Lake City. We are working with other companies to update the information they have published. COVID-19 is the reason that the Tabernacle recital had a substitute visit site added to compensate for this change. As things return to normal this issue will go away.
