Amazing overview for a short or longer visit
My mom and I were in Seattle for a short amount of time, and this was an incredible summary of so many great places. If you don’t have much time, you can see more than just your hotel. If you have more time, this will give you ideas for places to return. Fantastic views, wonderful guide (thank you, Andres!); highly recommend!

      Uninteresting tourist attractions
Tour on a closed bus, slow and slow, through uninteresting tourist attractions, with three stops in unattractive places, except for the last one with a beautiful view of Seattle. Excellent guide, very cultured and prepared, friendly and helpful.

A must to see and understand the layout of the city.
Jeff was our tour guide! He picked me up from my hotel, we stopped at another location to pick up other passengers. He was educational and informative, and friendly, knew the city inside out, and was considerate and offered to take pictures for us. Very highly recommend this tour.

      Good time!
The guide was excellent with fun information. We drove around the city and various neighborhoods in the Seattle area. The weather did not cooperate this day, as it rained all day, but overall had a good time.

      Great tour guide
Gary was a great guide. Informative, funny and very accommodating. He came early for pick up and dropped us off where we requested to be dropped off at the Space Needle. Highly recommended tour especially for first time visitors to Seattle. Only room for improvement would be more stops for photo ops.

Andreas was an excellent guide and knowledgeable about Mt.Rainier, the greater Seattle area and history surrounding both. He controlled the group masterfully allowing sufficient time to see the sites and herd a very diverse group back to the bus so we stayed on schedule. The Fred Meyer stop was perfect to buy lunch, snacks or breakfast. My opinion: This is the best way to enjoy an informative trip to Rainier, see the highlighted features and not worry about driving. We were also fortunate to have a beautiful, sunny day (5/21/22) to see the mountain. The old growth forest, and Shadow trail are must sees and short hikes providing an enchanted and surreal experience.

My husband & I took the Mt Rainier Tour on October 3, 2021. Prior to tour date Tours Northwest confirmed they'd be picking us up in front of our hotel, and they were right on time. Our guide and driver was "Lucinda", and she was excellent in every resepect. It is about 2 hours from Seattle to Mt Rainier. There were 19 on the bus, which was very comfortable. On the way to the park there was a stop at a grocery store that had a good deli. You could purchase grab and go, or have sandwiches made to order. Ample time was given to get lunches, coffee, and use the restrooms. (and in case you are wondering, there were plenty of stops during the course of the day for bathroom breaks, which we appreciated, since this is a ten hour tour) A cooler with ice was provided, along with a "sharpie pen" so we could write our names on our sandwiches and keep them cold until we were ready to eat. (you are allowed to eat on the bus if you want to, and bottled water was also provided)

Lucinda was very informative, explaining some of the history of the park, geology of what we were seeing, etc. She also provided a useful brochure/map to everyone so we could track our route. Once in the park we made several stops where we could either walk on our own, or along with others in the group. The walks were never too long or too difficult, and plenty of time was allowed. There were also several shorter stops for photos aat scenic spots in the park. My husband and I never felt rushed, and we know we saw a lot more of the park than we would have if we had been there on our own. When we returned to Seattle around 5pm everyone was dropped off at their hotels. This may seem like a more expensive tour option than other companies offer, but it is WELL worth the money. My husband and I ony had 2 days in Seattle, following a cruise, and we are very glad we chose to spend one of them with Tours Northwest. I highly recommend this particular tour, and Tours Northwest. PS) Covide safety protocols were followed at all times, masks were required while on the bus.

We had an excellent experience on the Mt. Ranier tour. Pick up was at the Seattle Library and took us through multiple stops in and around Mt. Ranier park. Our tour guide, Andreas Blum, was fantastic. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of the area, including the ability to identify most every tree, rock and varmint en-route to the mountain. His energy and passion about the area was welcomed.

We thought about doing this trip on our own, but this tour was perfect. It takes care of all the entries and logistics, and you get the benefit of a guide pointing out some really neat things and interesting tidbits about the area. The bus has enough room for about 20 passengers. It is comfortable, fully air conditioned, and a cooler is provided to keep snacks and drinks cold.

The tour does stop at a market, where I highly recommend you purchase lunch and snacks, as the options are limited within the park.

Outstanding tour and well-priced for all that you do and see. John was a terrific guide. Calm, funny and informative, he gave us details about what we were seeing, allowed for quiet time to enjoy the sights and made the day go smoothly with his terrific sense of humor. He also might be the safest driver I've ever experienced on a tour. The tours are in small vans not large busses so your group doesn't overwhelm. The number of stops was "just right" for me, allowing us to see a variety of wonderful Mt. Ranier sights but not so much that we were overwhelmed. The amount of time spent at each stop was also just about right and I felt I was able to take the photos/enjoy the moments to the fullest. Would definitely book this group again.

We arrived at our meeting point a few minutes ahead of the scheduled departure time with a cup of coffee and a lot of anticipation. We had a beautiful day. The mini bus arrived right on time. It was clean and comfortable.
As we departed the city, our tour guide Lucinda spoke to us about the options for the day’s itinerary presented by the near perfect weather forecast and the summer season options for accessing the National Park. As a group, we elected to go to the Sunrise visitor center. Sunrise was a real treat as it has fantastic views, solid hiking trails and good facilities. It didn’t disappoint.
We were treated to an exceptional day and enjoyed it thoroughly. Kudos to our guide for her excursion management skills and sharing her local knowledge with the group.

Our tour guide Mark was the best! He was a great driver, funny, kind, informative, and patient. It was a perfect day and totally worth the time and money. It is an incredible national park. I have a fear of heights but the drive around the park did not scare me. It was the most tame mountain roads I have ever seen. Incredible experience and memorable. I never hike and this was a perfect intro to making you feel safe and getting out into nature. Beautiful water falls and the tour guide will take photos of your group for you!

This tour was the highlight of our trip! Our guide, Ron, was fantastic and a wealth of knowledge. The tour started close to our hotel and Ron took a poll on who wanted to take the Sunrise vs Paradise route. Most of us wanted Sunrise, but because one group didn’t, we ended up doing Paradise (which was fine, but it seemed odd to not have a set itinerary and some people REALLY wanted to do Sunrise). As we drove a few hours to the park, Ron gave some great tidbits and historical facts. We stopped at a grocery store for lunch food (where the pre made sandwiches were extra, extra dry - no mayo?). There were limited food options in the park. Once we hit the park, Ron was great with taking pictures for everyone and pointing out great info on plant life and glaciers etc.

Be aware - Mt Rainier is a shy mountain and you may not always get the views you want. We were extremely lucky to get to the top and have the clouds disperse for the hour or so we were there. By the time we left, clouds rolled in and she was gone!

Ron stopped at all the right spots for great views and great pic! Highly recommend this tour - and don’t forget to bring some cash to tip your awesome guide!

I had James as my tour guide and he was very calm, educated, organized, enthusiastic, and thoughtful. I could tell he cared a lot about the guests as well as the sites. He knew all the history of mt rainier and even the names of the people on our tour. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to take this tour. The actual tour itself was beautiful (we got very lucky with the weather) we went on three different hikes (not difficult, each 20-40 min) and saw very different parts of the mountain all in one day which would’ve been hard to do otherwise. We saw the top of the mountain at “paradise” (I recommend wearing hiking/snow shoes), a waterfall, and mirror lake. On our way back to Seattle james took us to this small, rural restaurant with amazing blackberry pie. He organized it perfectly and it was such a personal touch to the tour that I really appreciated- and the pie was delicious!!

Had an amazing time on the day tour. Mark was our guide, and he is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the area and it's history. There is very limited hiking required due to the tour being open to anyone of all fitness levels, but there is 90 minutes of free time spent at Paradise where you can do hiking on your own. Overall, I highly recommend this trip to anyone who is interested in learning about the history of Mount Rainier and its surrounding towns, as well as just seeing the sights. If you are only interested in lots of hiking, this probably isn't the tour for you.

The views and all the stops were amazing and loved every minute of the tour, our biggest issue was with the guide Cindy. She mentioned she was new but we had never felt more unsafe in a bus than with this lady, her driving skills are not very good. She did a few dangerous things such as making a U turn in the middle of the road with cars coming from both sides (she did this twice - once in Seattle because she took the wrong exit and another time up in the mountain), she was driving more than 70mph on the freeway and didn’t stop for bumps or uneven terrain. Many times we felt like we were flying and leaving our seat because of the intensity of her driving and speed. She almost missed an exit (again!) so she made a dangerous turn, she got lost in Seattle when she picked us up and again when she dropped us off. Again the tour is totally worth it, amazing views but our experience was unfortunately affected by the guide who made our experience a terrifying one. Overall wouldn’t recommend this tour.
