Our tour guide was spectacular and she did an amazing job of giving us some interesting fun facts about the city. It was great not having to walk to each destination and relax on the carriage. Only thing I would recommend is to not go so late at night when other passengers may be inebriated and loud.

It was very informative and entertaining. Our tour guide spoke loudly and clearly so that all of us in the carriage could hear over street noise. He made it personable with stories from other riders and locals. The amount of time on the tour was perfect and didn’t feel rushed.

Would recommend the tour at night and also Sun-Thursday to keep it less crowded on the streets.

I booked this tour for my family of four including a 12 year old son and 10 year old daughter. It was a very rainy evening, so we had the whole carriage to ourselves. Our guide was great! He asked how scary we wanted it and got it just right for a 10 year old at night. We went passed all of the important haunted locations and got to hear about their stories. One note, you should check the route ahead of time to make sure that your hotel isn’t one of the haunted locations if your crew scares easily - it’s basically the area northeast of Jackson square. I would recommend this tour over a walking tour as it feels a little safer from the spirits to be in a carriage. In all, we enjoyed it and were sufficiently spooked.

Sarah(tour guide) and Blondie(mule) were absolutely the treat we were looking for in a ghost tour. After having walked all day in NOLA, you cannot go wrong with a carriage ride!
I took my 11 year old son and Sarah’s ability to communicate loudly and clearly plus story-telling just held his attention the entire time. We saw parts of New Orleans and learned history and fun facts- all while getting the chills from the ghost stories and ambiance!
We absolutely loved it- book this tour, it is a great way to sit back and relax and enjoy the supernatural element of New Orleans.
Thanks Sarah!!! (We also have a new respect for bikes lol)

We were on vacation as a three generation family. This tour was enjoyed by EVERYONE! Rory the guide and Ivan the mule did a fantastic job. Rory was very personable-engaged with the 12-year-olds (almost 13), spoke clearly enough for the older generation to hear 😉, and entertained us the entire time. It was a perfect way to end our trip.

We had a great time on the carriage ghost tour. We covered a lot of ground, and the entire time we had the interestig and educational background explained by out tour guide Steph. Ivan the horse did a great job, but Steph was plesant, informed and enjoyable. Overall a great time. I think the event is more enjoyable when done after sunset in the dark.

We really enjoyed our tour with Kaycee (tour guide) and Jinger (mule). They did a great job navigating the streets when cars would not yield to them. They kept us very safe.

Our first night in New Orleans and we took a 9pm tour. The tour itself was also very entertaining. Kaycee was easy to understand, answered questions, and told interesting stories. The ride was very comfortable - though I did see some carriages that were not as nice as ours was - I think we got lucky.

It was a comfortable way to get an introduction to the French Quarter and New Orleans history. And it left us with a desire to learn more of the history behind the stories (we were particularly fascinated with the Casket Girls).

I would recommend this for families - even young kids. Sometimes the stories would get mildly gruesome, but never scary. It might vary by tour guide though. The company seemed accommodating, so you might ask for a less scary guide.

Carriage rides can be expensive, and we avoided others as we travelled around the Deep South. Most tours are about 20 minutes, and cost around $50.

But we prebooked an hour's ride in the evening at New Orleans at $60, because it was a historical tour and took in many areas/streets we would otherwise have missed

Sarah, and mule Blondie, did not disappoint, and we felt the money was really, really well spent.

We would recommend theRoyal Carriage Company - you will be pleased.

Overall we had a good experience it’s just a little too pricey for the experience. $60 per person for a one hour ride seemed excessive. We did the ghost tour. Although a great way to see the Quarter, it was difficult to hear the guide at all with all of the street noise.

My fiance and I took a 30 minute tour with Bernard and Matt. Five minutes into the tour we realized we had made a mistake. We should have taken the hour tour. I was very impressed with Bernard's knowledge of the route. Matt's knowledge of the city's history , architecture and his way of telling the story of the French Quarter made this tour one that we recommend.
