Overview
Steamboats played a major role in the 19th century on the Mississippi River, and this tour offers a whole evening of New Orleans fun aboard a paddle-wheel steamboat. Enjoy unique views of the city without having to deal with crowded streets, and save time and money by combining a cruise with a night of live jazz and Creole-style dinner (if option selected).
What to Expect
Your cruise takes off from the docks near Toulouse Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Board your ship up to an hour before your departure time. The paddle-wheel steamboat, Steamboat Natchez, is one of the last of its kind in the area.

Once out on the Mississippi River, relax on the outdoor deck or inside in the cabin, and take in views of the city in the distance. As you float down the river, enjoy jazz music performed by the Grammy-nominated Dukes of Dixieland.

If you’ve upgraded your cruise ticket to include dinner, pile your plate full of Creole-style food from the buffet table. The bread pudding is a popular dessert choice.

Your cruise ends back in the French Quarter. If you’re looking for something to do afterward, there’s a booming nightlife scene nearby.

Fun on the river

I did not have dinner on the cruise but it looked really good. I did however enjoy the cruise on the upper deck. Great views of New Orleans. I was interesting to go below and see the old steam engines and drive system. I enjoyed...More

Not what I expected.

Supposedly live jazz, but never saw them. Music was piped to the upper level, which has the only seating available. The two bars have only a few tables available inside. Waste of time and money. If you want the cruise experience go on the day...More

Overpriced for raw meat

My husband and I did the Saturday night dinner cruise on Dec. 29. We liked some of the food items, however, the carved beef was extremely rare....like mooing. I did take a bite but I just couldn't do it. So I was left eating the...More

Nice trip good live jazz music.

Was a bit cold the night we went so couldn't enjoy it as much as we would have liked but with that being said. the atmosphere was great and the food was even better. Definitely a must do while in the Big Easy!

About 2 hours on the boat - skip the dinner, you can do better (food and price-wise) in town.

No dress code. Just dress how you'd like to. But it can get pretty windy so be aware if choosing skirts.
