My wife and I visited Sri Lanka in February. It was a personalized tour covering the locations which we wanted to visit. Of course, given the days available to us, we could not plan a visit to cover all the locations we would have liked to visit and so we had to prioritize the places to stay at and also the places to see. I interacted with Lakshi from Overa Tours. She was very courteous and responsive in planning the itinerary and also in getting the hotels booked for our stay. We corresponded on WhatsApp and her responses were always very prompt. On Arrival in Sri Lanka we were greeted at the Airport by our driver Mr Shiwa with whom we spent the next 10 days touring Sri Lanka. We found him to be a very safe and careful driver. Given the large amount of time we spent travelling from place to place, this was important to us. We found Sri Lanka to be a very beautiful country, with abundant greenery and wildlife. Our journey covered Sigiriya, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Ella, Yala, Bentota and of course, Colombo. People were very hospitable and we made it a point to have Mr Shiwa take us to local restaurants for a proper local meal, every day of the tour. There were many places that we visited, such as Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage & the adjacent Zoo enroute to Sigiriya, the Eco Park (instead of Minneriya) and Polonnaruwa as well from Sigiriya. At Kandy it was the Temple of Tooth, the Royal Botanical Gardens. At Nuwara Eliya, the Sita Temple, a Tea Factory and the Nuwara Eliya Post office which is one of the oldest in Sri Lanka. The Train ride from Nuwara Eliya (Nanu Oya station) to Ella was very picturesque. Mr Shiwa ensured that we boarded the right train, guided us to our seats and then proceeded to meet us at the end of the ride, at Ella. As has been mentioned in a blog I had read on a traveler website, the left side of the train affords a better view of the valleys and tea gardens, after the train has travelled for a while. But no matter on which side of the train you sit, you will enjoy the views. We also did a Safari at Yala before leaving for Bentota with a brief stop at Galle to walk the ramparts of the Dutch Fort, take in the sea views and settle for Tea before we continued to proceeded for our stay at Bentota and eventually to Colombo. Of the hotels that we were booked into, although all were good, a few were notable so I mention them below – Mirage Kings Cottage at Nuwara Eliya, which is a lovely property, was very well presented and where the lovely cold weather made it feel all that much peaceful. Serenite Ella, where the views from the room were simply breath-taking, Granbell Hotel Colombo, where a Sea-facing room made the stay feel very special. There were many other places that we visited on our journey across Sri Lanka (though not specifically mentioned above) that have made our journey to Sri Lanka a memorable one. This includes the stops on the road to have a Red banana (we had never seen one before), to drink Coconut water, to buy some Kithul (Palm jaggery), to mention a few. A personal thank you to Lakshi and to Mr Shiwa for the efforts taken to make our visit to Sri Lanka a most enjoyable one.

Nuwan (Sity) was our tour guide and he did a very good job. He was very kind, respectful, knowledgeable and accommodating. You can also communicate what car and experience you need beforehand. I went with my mother who is also asthmatic and fell sick during our tour - Sity and Kasun were both very helpful and responsive and managed the situation very well. I would recommend Sity and his services to anyone visiting Sri Lanka!

Adisham Bungalow in Haputhale is a hidden gem that offers a peaceful retreat amidst Sri Lanka’s stunning hill country. The location is absolutely breathtaking, with lush greenery and panoramic views that make the visit truly special. 🌄✨ The entrance tickets were surprisingly cheap, making it a great budget-friendly attraction. However, I do feel they could increase the price slightly to improve maintenance, as the place deserves a bit more care to preserve its charm. One of the highlights of our visit was the jams and chutneys made by the Benedictine priests – absolutely delicious! 🍓🥭 If you visit, make sure to grab some as souvenirs. Overall, Adisham Bungalow is a must-visit for anyone traveling to Haputale. Whether you’re a history lover, a nature enthusiast, or simply looking for a peaceful escape, this place is well worth it!

The tour guide and driver Anu was excellent, courteous and flexible, really opened up the cultural aspect of Sri Lanka. AAAA++++ We visited the two major ancient cities Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa, the red mosque in Pettah and the Hindu temple Sri Ponnambala Vaneswarar Kovil, helped fill a travel day with an impromptu visit to Aukana Buddha statuealso take a Sigiriya village tour and visit a cultural center with dance and music; I arranged to see the Gangaram Perahera procession and the national museum on my own. The hotels were entirely satisfactory and some were really quite lovely. I also appreciate the attentiveness of Lakshi in the office. A very enriching visit overall.

We did more than it's expected on this trip. Dambulla, Sigirya, SPA. And we could do a little trip to the National Park to see the elefants but I was not interested Sigirya is unexpectedly easy to climb. Even the kids and the old people are doing it. The views are amazing! The guide was very helpful. But as for every guide in Sri Lanka, I'd rather call him a driver than a guide

Our tour was filled with joy, laughter and with much exitement which was a well customized itenary by Overa Tours. It was arranged by Yassar, a very knowledgeable & a friendly guy. According to our requirements he gave us a well planned itinerary with stunning locations, comfortable accommodation in hotels & vehicles. This tour inspired & made us learn lot about the cultures, religions & traditions of a different nation. Discoveries of Sung Sot cave & family's swimming at Halong Bay were amazing. Wow! Kayaking with my daughter at Halong Bay was incredibly exiting. Reaching to the "Roof of Indochina in Sapa by Furnicular & Cable car was thrilling. Well the whole tour was astonishing with lots of thrills. I recommend anyone to tour with Overa Tours without hesitation as they do a qgood job with our requirements.

I had an unforgettable experience on my safari trip to Wilpattu National Park, and I can't recommend it enough! Thanks to Overa Tours, I was able to book the trip last minute, and they did an exceptional job organizing everything. From the moment I was picked up, the service was top-notch. The safari was filled with incredible wildlife sightings, including not one, but three leopards! I also had the incredible fortune of seeing sloth bears, and there was no shortage of other amazing animals like elephants, birds, and various deer species. The highlight of the trip, of course, was the rare leopard sightings — an experience I will never forget. The guides and drivers were highly knowledgeable and incredibly patient, making sure we didn’t miss a thing. However, the service didn't stop there. I had a bit of a mishap when I lost my phone in the forest, but Overa Tours went above and beyond to help me recover it. The drivers and staff worked tirelessly to track it down and made sure it was returned to me safely — something that really impressed me. It’s rare to see such dedication and care for customers, and it truly made my experience even more memorable. I booked my trip with Overa Tours, was very lastminute and they did everything to sort out my trip for the next day, was very well organized and was stress free for me. the trip in the park was amazing. Was so lucky to see 3 leopards one mother and 2 cubs which was amazing. my driver was so good. unfortunately i lost my phone on the trip and Nazz and the team did everything they could to get it back too me and I should have it in the next few days. they organized it mostly themselves to get it sent to my friend. They answered all my questions and I really think they are one of the best companies to go with. Back to the trip it was so good saw plenty of animals. had a good lunch and breakfast as well, they had more than enough food for me and the drive to the park and back to negombo was very good got too sleep both ways so props to the driver.
