Aurora Borealis Viewing and Ice Fishing Adventure
From US$ 199.00
Overview
While visiting Fairbanks, take part in two great Alaska activities: ice fishing and aurora borealis viewing. Travel outside the city into the mountains to go ice fishing and look for the aurora borealis. Your home base is a cozy heated cabin where you can sip hot cocoa and snack on grilled fresh fish that you catch, or reindeer sausage. Hope to get a good look at the aurora borealis (northern lights) on a tour that includes use of fishing gear, refreshments, and guide.
What to Expect
Your Aurora Borealis viewing and ice fishing expedition takes place on a frozen lake outside North Pole.  This location was chosen for the excellent ice fishing and the amazing aurora views.
Upon arrival at the frozen lake; your guide will show you the technique for catching fish through 5 feet of ice.
The deluxe cabin has removable covers in the floor that you will fish through. You will be warm and comfortable while you fish and wait for the magical aurora to appear.  Each person will have their own fishing spot.
Be sure to bring your camera, tripod, spare camera batteries and charger. The cold temperatures outside can drain batteries quickly and you don't want to miss out on that aurora picture of a lifetime.
You will fish for King Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Arctic Char, and Rainbow Grayling.
Sip steaming hot cocoa as you bring up fish from the clear water underworld. Don't worry about getting hungry; your fish are grilled fresh, and Reindeer Sausage on buns are included.

On my Aurora Ice Fishing Adventure; reeling up fish and munching reindeer sausage is a great way to spend time while waiting for the mystical aurora to dance. When the aurora starts to dance the fishing cabins clear view of the sky is a prime...More
