Tons of History, Joy, and Power
My partner and I loved the tour. Sister Pat is a truth teller and a true inspiration. She has the bonafide, she has the facts, and she is making real change. The tour covered the history of slaves arriving in the Port to sales to large plantations, to auctions of slaves for the Savannah market. The stories of the underground rail road at First Baptist and the 40 acres history were highlights. I was a little skeptical going in about reenactments, but Sister Ross and Sister Pat were on fire. A must for anyone interested in Gullah Geechee culture & Savannah.

      Great experience Tybee island tour
The transportation was on time and convenient pick up locations in the historic district. Stephanie our guide was extremely informative and very knowledgeable of the local history. The dolphin tour was fun and a great chance to experience the marine life in the area.

Fun thing to do outside of Savannah!
We really enjoyed this tour. Our daughter had visited Savannah before and said that it was such a headache to go to Tybee Island on your own, so it was nice to be picked up and returned to our hotel (no one called to offer that service; we had to call and arrange). Stephanie was a wonderful, knowledgeable guide - she first drove around Savannah giving history/tidbits; we then drove to Tybee Island for the Dolphin Cruise - smaller boat but Eric (?) and his assistant were fun, and good at finding dolphins. We then had lunch at The Crabshack - very good frozen cocktails and seafood (if you don't like seafood they also have BBQ) - lunch was not included in the tour price and it was a little pricey but we over-ordered, so lots of food! We were then driven to the beach where you had your choice of beaching it (way too hot but another couple had worn swimsuits so swam in the ocean), going to the Lighthouse museum (extra fee; our daughters did climb the stairs!), or sitting in an outdoor bar and having a drink (we opted for this but still very hot). We were happy to return to the air-conditioned bus and get dropped off at our hotel. Thank you Stephanie! Also- keep in mind that they offer pick-up/drop-off service for 2 days after the tour so that's a nice bonus (until 4:30 so we couldn't use it for dinner).

      Great day!
This was such a fun day, I am so glad we did it. Our tour guide, Dennis, was wonderful. Very nice and funny. His history narrated tour on the way out of town was fantastic - I learned a lot. The van was nice and cool on a hot day. Dennis also had cold water for us, which was great. We spent 2 hours at the Crab Shack - and while it was very tasty and seeing the gators was really fun, I wish we had spent a smaller amount of time there so we could get more time on the beach. The dolphin tour was SO much fun. We saw many dolphins jump out of the water - so neat! The captain was hilarious and they gave us plenty of time for photos. The beach was beautiful and Dennis dropped us off at a location downtown that we had requested. Highly recommend - great way to spend our last day in the Savannah area!

      Fabulous tour!
This trip was wonderful! Tour guide Dennis was delightful. He was friendly, very communicative and shared so much history on the drive out and while on Tybee. Very informational and entertaining. Lunch at Crab Shack was delicious! Dolphin tour was fantastic! Such a great boat crew and worked so hard to find as many dolphins as possible while being silly and making us laugh. I opted for the lighthouse tour and museum, instead of short stop at the beach, and highly recommend. The climb up is a bit tough, but views are incredible!! Overall, well worth the time and money. A wonderful day!

Great way to see Savannah in the heat
John was a terrific guide and this was the perfect way for us to orientate ourselves on our first visit to this beautiful city. It is too hot to walk to all the places, so we were grateful to see more and learn all sorts of fun facts about Savannah. And it is good value if we utilize the shuttle service that is available to us for the next 2 days.

      A powerful experience
Of all the things we got to see and do on our trip to Savannah, we valued this tour the most. Sistah Roz is an amazing, compelling storyteller, and these stories need to be told. We learned so much from her. It's mind-blowing how Savannah is still struggling to come to terms with its difficult history of slavery. We absolutely recommend this tour!

      Great Experience! 10/10 Would Recommend.
Our tour guide (I believe his name was Dan), was AMAZING! He picked us up at a set pickup point a couple of blocks away from our air BNB and went out of his way to drop us off at the corner of where the air BNB was located which we were thankful for. At the start of the tour, he took the time to give us a small tour of downtown Savannah before we got on the road heading to Tybee Island. Once we arrived at Tybee, he lead us exactly to where we needed to be and checked us in for the boat ride. Our time on the boat was great. Of course, we saw dolphins and lots of them!!! Once we were done with the boat, our guide led us back to the bus and we headed for lunch. I will say that the only slight dislike, nothing too major though, is the place we are at for lunch does not have inside air conditioning. It was very hot this day and we had just gotten off the boat so we were hoping to relax in some cool air while grabbing a meal. Nonetheless, the food was good! Lastly, we headed to the beach, but by this time everyone in our tour group was tired and wanted to stay in the bus where it was nice and cool. Once you get to the beach, you have the choice of spending the remaining time of your tour however you’d like and as a group, we all decided that we’d rather cut it short as, like I previously said, we were tired and drained from the heat. Overall, this tour was amazing and I am sure that had it been a bit cooler, we would have enjoyed some nice relaxation on the beach.

      Dolphins!!!!! Great tour, highly recommend!!
My hubby and I did this tour. The company called us the day before to see if we were needed to be picked up and dropped off at our lodging in the historic district and we did. A driver showed up promptly the morning of our tour and took us to the tour office to get on the tour bus. It was a full bus. I cannot remember our tour guide’s name but he was wonderful. He commented on sites as we drove to Tybee Island, drove very well and was very nice. The first stop was at The Crab Shack. My hubby and I were still full from breakfast so we did not there. We checked out the alligators and birds. The dolphin boat ride was amazing. The staff was very friendly and the boat was comfortable for the dolphin watching. We saw dolphins galore!!!!! It was amazing!!!! We then drove to North Beach where we explored the beautiful beach. Some of the kiddos on the tour got in the water. This beach was beautiful and we got to see ocean!!! We then drove back to Savannah and got dropped off at our lodging. I think the tour was fantastic and well worth the price. Don’t eat a late breakfast so you can enjoy some food at the Crab Shack.

      Great Tour and Experience
We had a great experience! I was chosen as a volunteer during the immersive experience and it made my teenagers day. Highly recommend this tour and experience. All actors and hosts did a great job to include Radar, Mauve, and Dr. Gaust (unsure of spelling).

      Powerful, eye opening, AMAZING!!!
This tour was the highlight of our trip to Savannah. Extremely valuable information. Priceless. Sister Rozz and Brother Robert captivated us with their knowledge of Savannah‘s history of slavery and the countless significant events that far too few people are aware of. We learned so much. I could see my children’s eyes opening. Inspiring, motivating, life changing. I highly recommend!!!

      So touching
This tour was so touching and coherent from the start to the end by this magnificent storyteller Sister Razz ! Every facts she said felt like a liberation of a story that MUST been told. As a responsible society we should nurture these type of information and encourage the new generations to know about it. It’s been a long time I never had such a meaningful experience while learning and discovering history. Thank you Sister Razz and to your team.

After a wrong stop, we did find the right location for this tour finally. Be aware there are a LOT of tour companies in one small area!

Our guide, Stephanie was good for the land touring portion, and we truly appreciated the open top van as the 2 people in front of us stunk with cigarette smoke. They were also the ones that arrived 10 minutes late AND came back to the van late from the one and only stop we made. Not the companies fault, but these 2 delays prevented anyone on the tour from getting a little lunch at the many fun places on River street before boarding the river cruise. (No hour and a half gap as promoted) If your policy is arrive on time or be left behind, you need to stick to it! The tour itself was informative and a quick overview of all the squares and historic buildings.

We did not like the "drop and run" end portion of the tour. Several of us wandered up and down River street trying to find the right 'blue awning' we were told to go to register for the riverboat. This needs to be rethought out by Gray Line. Along that line, a better system needs to be put in place for returning to the visitor center. I KNOW we were told about the DOT system, but there weren't enough maps for us all, and, I'm sorry, but all this information being verbally conveyed in a rushed manner as we were stopped at the river drop off point made it a bit stressful. Perhaps a nice handout would help ease the confusion? (It wasn't just us)

The Riverboat was just okay. I had thought there would be much more history information instead of the shipping industry spiel we heard. I would not recommend this for any families with small children - they'll be bored after 15 minutes. I will say, though, that the food available was reasonably priced and large portions.

All in all, I don't think this was a good value for what we paid. I wish
now that we had done the hop-on hop-off trolly instead.

This trip was in response to a particularly tough work week. I needed to get away and had never been to Savannah so it was time. Savannah did not disappoint. I booked my tour after I had arrived (around midnight the night before). I called to confirm the next morning and the lady who answered was so helpful answering any questions I had. The Land tour was excellent. Bob, our guide, knew everything. He delivered all the interesting facts in an amusing and thoroughly entertaining way. I was dropped off in front of the Riverboat for the Sea portion of the tour with enough time to enjoy a delicious seafood lunch. For future reference, if you haven't downloaded and printed your Riverboat tickets then you will have to take your e-ticket over to the Riverboat "store" as you need a paper ticket to board the Riverboat. It's not an issue and again, the staff were very helpful. The Guide on the boat clearly loves his job and was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. I will definitely book this tour again and I have told my co-workers about this tour. Absolutely excellent!

As this was our first trip to Savannah, we opted to do this tour. The Kelly Tours/Gray Line shuttle picked us up right at the front door of our hotel and took us to the visitors center where the tour began. Our driver/narrator, Julie, was great! She was a lifelong resident of Savannah and had a wealth of information. Her love for her city is quite evident and I’m super impressed that she could drive and talk for 90 minutes. The narrator for the riverboat portion was also informative as well as very humorous.

There was an added bonus for taking this tour that’s not mentioned on TA. We were given wristbands that were good for two days that enabled us to use the Kelly Tours/Gray Line shuttle for pickups and/or drop offs at any of the tour stops. So on day 2, all we had to do was call the number on the brochure we were given and within 5 minutes they picked us up at the stop closest to our hotel and dropped us off at the River Street stop, and then did the same for us to return to our hotel, and actually dropped us off at the front door of our hotel. You could traverse the whole city utilizing their free shuttle. My husband has some mobility issues and this service greatly decreased the amount of walking we had to do.

I think a disclaimer should be added to the tour description for people with back issues. The trolley does a lot of driving over the stone paved streets close to the river, which makes for a very rough ride. My husband did experience some back issues due to the rough ride.

Right? We can't even walk and chew gum so we have no idea how our amazing drivers can pull off these tours without missing a beat. We are sorry your husband's back didn't agree with River Street -- it's pretty tough to navigate those stones. But delighted you enjoyed the tours and utilized our complimentary shuttle. Thanks for the review! Come back and visit us again.

We had a great tour! Our trolley tour guide was Dan (We called him Lieutenant Dan like out of Forrest Gump)! He was very knowledgeable and friendly! He taught us a lot about Savannah history in a fun way! We were also delighted to learn that we could get shuttles all over the city for the rest of the day just because we scheduled a tour. It was very convenient. They even picked us up at our hotel!

The Riverboat Cruise was also nice as we learned a lot about shipping and industry in Savannah. the views are gorgeous as well.

    Two things to note:
    1. The person inside the Riverboat Cruise shop (who is not employed by Gray Line!) was quite rude. We already had our tickets but we went inside to buy a bottle of water. The girl behind the desk was on the phone and didn't acknowledge us until we tapped on the glass to get her attention. She should have seen us on her own. Other people trying to get tickets complained that she wouldn't acknowledge them either because she was still on the phone. When the other employee was notified of the rude behavior, they were instructed to "just wait."
    2. We were assured by 3 different shuttle drivers that one would be available to take us back to the hotel even though it was after their shuttle hours. When we got off the boat, there wasn't a shuttle there. We called the phone number and it stated it was after hours. We had a loooong walk back to our hotel room. ***We did talk to the Gray Line company and they apologized profusely. They said they didn't know what went wrong that night as there is usually a shuttle to pick people back up.

Other than these 2 "hitches" it was a lovely experience and we would definitely do it again. Parking in Savannah can be hard to find so the shuttles are convenient.

This was super easy to book online. When we got there there were multiple company tour buses easily identified with signs set up in the tourist center parking lot. Note, online it says that there is an attendant to take your fees for parking. It's actually just one of the automated ticket dispensers. The first hour is free make sure to increase the amount of time to ensure you're paying for a full day being there. I believe 7 hours easily covered our day. Our name was our ticket and they simply gave us a band to board the trolleys during the day. The open-air historical tour with Kathleen was fabulous. She was funny and Incredibly informative. The closed shuttles were very convenient taking you to and from which ever stop you needed to go to. The Riverboat tour again, the tour guide was fabulous and informative. The extent of knowledge was appreciated. Not to mention the views were beautiful, instructions were easy . This is definitely something would do again and well WORTH the money.

Our Trolley tour was fun & very interesting, because Big Scott added his own stories & historical knowledge to the tour! We learned quite a lot about the various areas in & around Savannah & then we knew which areas we wanted to investigate further on our own! The many squares are lovely & the Azaleas were just beginning to bloom - it will be magnificent near the last of March!
The Georgia Queen Paddle wheel cruise was also very interesting & the tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the river, shipping along the river, & the history of Savannah.
We had a little over an hour between tours & I would suggest a very quick lunch & then get in line to board the ship early. As the people board, they load the ship from bottom to top. When we arrived, the two lower levels were full & we had to go to level 3 (inside with not much A/C) or 4 (top deck). If it is sunny & hot, (which it was!) there were a few tables with umbrellas left, but most of the seating was taken. So, get there early to find seating which you prefer.

Having never spent any time in Savannah, we decided doing a tour would be a good start.
The Tram portion of the tour drove around the historic district which is very picturesque. Our driver/guide was pleasant and friendly. I was disappointed that we didn’t really have time to explore or take photos at individual locations. There are no stops during the trams tour.
The River boat part of the tour was very pleasant and informative, the tour narrator was very knowledgeable about the area and it’s history. The Georgia Queen is a 1,000 passenger River boat and it was packed! The weather was sunny and quite a bit warmer than we anticipated so we went into the indoor area after about 30 minutes in the upper deck. You can hear the narration indoors and out.
Important note: Be sure to redeem your voucher for your boat ticket before you get in line to board. There was some confusion about that since our Tram driver didn’t really explain the process. The voucher does not substitute for an actual ticket.

Next time, we do have a shuttle that can bring you back to any locations for free, included in the price of your ticket but unfortunately, the city of Savannah is pretty strict with where we can slow down or stop during a tour.

We did the Land & Sea Combo tour. The trolley tour through the city was great, and our tour guide was informative and entertaining. The riverboat cruise was entirely forgettable though and I would highly recommend skipping it. They also need to do a better job at explaining the logistics of the two tours. We assumed that the trolley tour would take us back to the starting point but it doesn't... it drops you off near the river cruise even though you have either 1.5 hours or 4 hours depending on what cruise time you choose. So make sure you pay for plenty of parking time since you might not get back to the visitor's center until late in the day.

This was first visit for my mother and I to Savannah and we wanted to see as much as we could in an afternoon. The land portion of the tour was great. My mother and really enjoyed it; our tour guide was really informative and shared stories and interesting background of the city. I would highly recommend the land portion. The riverboat was just OK. If you’ve never been on a riverboat you might find it a good experience (check that off your list). The land and wildlife you see is beautiful but our tour guide was what I would described as “dry”. True, the gentleman was well informed but felt like he was just reading from a textbook. Even my mother stated she felt like she’d been listening to a high school history lecture instead of a fun tour. Note: food and drinks are available. However due to labor shortages there was only one bartender to get take ALL beverage and food orders. The poor girl was going as fast as she could , but that is a long wait with so many people. That is not anyone’s fault; all businesses are having labor shortage but consider bringing your own drinks or snacks rather than wait in long line.

Thank you so much for the feedback! We will definitely address that with our guides, and hope to see you again soon! Additionally, thank you for being kind and understanding to the bartender, as many can be pretty harsh

The Kelly trolley tour was quite nice - 5 stars. Kathleen, the driver and narrator, was informative, giving site information, historical stories, and humorous anecdotes throughout the tour. The cruise portion was also narrated by a crew member and, when we could hear it, interesting. Unfortunately there was a large group of Very loud, somewhat drunk, older New Yorkers who gradually cleared the main portion of the open upper deck of the boat of almost everyone but themselves because no one could hear the narration, much less hear themselves think. Luckily, there was a nice, relatively quiet, indoor area on the next deck down that was comfortable and air conditioned. Otherwise, it was a very pleasant and informative way to spend an afternoon.
