- Judith C0 contributionsSo happy we got to experience Gettysburg. Beautiful small town, tons of history. This is an amazing service. Very simple to use and extremely informative. We were very happy with the experience. First time users.Written 16 November 2024
- Sherpa7758690 contributionsDefinitely a worthwhile experience! The audio tour was great! We loved going at our speed in our own car. The stops were informative. We got out for maybe half of them and it took us almost 3 hours for the tour. The only thing we’d change, is there was a good hour without any bathroom around, they should put more porta potties along the way! We will definitely do this tour againWritten 14 November 2024

- X1971TEernests0 contributionsFantastic tour!!The self driving tour was amazing. Follow the directions precisely, and it is a very informative and wonderful tour. We took a bus tour first to acquaint our sales with the battlefield. The self guided tour was so great because you can pause the tour and resume at your convenience. It allowed us to leave the vehicle and explore sites that were particularly interesting to us. We used it over a period three days. I would highly recommend to everyone.Written 4 November 2024
- CGSLMC0 contributionsCar Tour very worth it!The application was easy to use once you figured it out. The narrator was easy to understand, and the information provided was very good. Especially liked the extra commentary on specific monuments and the commentary between stops. Going solo thru the battlefield, this made the day fly. I also liked that it took me off program (based on the auto tour signs) to Culps Hill and Spangler's spring. That was a great experience.Written 3 November 2024
- Douglas M0 contributionsExcellent tour!We enjoyed doing the self-driving audio tour. The commentator was excellent. It is unbelievable how many statues are along the tour. You should allow 2.5 - 3 hours to complete the entire tour.Written 31 October 2024

- EILEEN F0 contributionsDeeply moving experienceIt was my second visit and his first. We did the auto tour with audio/video guide. Could have spent the whole day but it would have been too much to take in. Made the whole history of those 3 days of battle come alive. Highly recommend it. Better than the bus tour because you can take your time and stop where you especially want to. We will return some day.Written 26 October 2024
- Gina M0 contributionsWorth a few hoursAmazing history and information. The narrator is easy to follow. I recommend allowing time to get out and look around at the recommended stops. There are over 1000 monuments to view and many original features. This is a great piece of history especially for those of us who didn’t pay attention in history class.Written 24 October 2024

- dianewD5698OB0 contributionsChoose your own adventureWhile taking a teen to Gettysburg, I didn’t want to commit to a highly structured tour. This car tour was perfect. We started near where we ate lunch, then did a bit of the tour. We were all engaged in the stories. After taking a break we resumed the tour without missing a beat. This tour was perfect for our family and we will be looking to do more in the future.Written 20 October 2024
- markclaym0 contributionsInteresting and InformativeTo stand at the first stop where the three day battle began was pretty cool. The second and third stops where you are looking down at the battlefields was also cool, but after a while, one battlefield was much like another, just with a different story. To see them all requires driving through the city, which is a nightmare, and we were there on a Thursday in October! I was astounded at the traffic. I can't imagine what it would be like on weekends or holidays. The city itself has very little to offer in the way of historic significance, but is littered with touristy shops of all sorts. While we aren't sorry we went, unless Civil War history is a very specific interest, I really don't recommend it.Written 19 October 2024
- 633shelinap0 contributionsSee aboveWhen we arrived at start address, that specific building didn’t open until an hour later. When I called customer number for questions, no one could tel me the exact answers I needed. They didn’t have alot of knowledge about the starting address. If you are going to represent another business then they should know how to answer questions. The app didn’t work in the beginning when I first arrived at the starting point. The employee at the Heritage center took the time to get me started. The tour guide on the app was great, very detailed, very informative and kept us on the right direction, on time. We enjoyed the tour but I was very upset in the beginning that we couldn’t get answers when I needed them.Written 19 October 2024

This was a great tour for people who can't walk well, you can do it all from your car. We downloaded the app to my Android phone but the sound did not work, so we downloaded the app to an apple phone and it worked great. The best time, in our opinion, to do this tour is right before sunset, it makes it more spooky.Tour was easy to follow, and you can do it at your own pace. We enjoyed this adventure very much.

WOW! What fun! This experience allows you to enjoy history and the interesting stories at your own pace. We did it on two separate times....at night and completed during the day. We learned so much and got to enjoy it all with our own family. I can't wait to do this again somewhere else! They have other self guided tours.

Not bad. Good information and the ghost stories were interesting. I got a little lost halfway thru, but circled around and was able to pickup where I got lost. I don't know if i would recommend it to someone traveling alone only because its hard to focus on what is being said and being able to look at the area or building you suppose to look at while driving.

I apologize for any confusion you experienced halfway through the tour, but I'm happy to know that you were able to circle back and continue the tour. Our family used the Ghosts of the Battlefield during our recent visit to Gettysburg. Although we failed to see any type of apparitions, the car tour took us through many historical battlefields. We enjoyed the background information provided throughout. Would liked to have listened to more stories during the driving downtimes from one field to the next. The gaps between audio comments was too long. We thought we lost connection at times. I would recommend this due to the reasonable cost for touring the battlefields from your car.

First of all, great customer service. My 16 year old son and I purchased the Ghosts of the Battlefield. Download was easy, easy to follow map and instructions. Great 5G service all around Gettysburg. Unfortunately I thought it would talk about people who died there and maybe their back stories or haunting information, and it did, but it was also *VERY* gory. Lots of detail about the cut off arms and legs in piles, bodies rotting etc. Neither my son nor I enjoyed it (and he loves war, gory games, weapons, etc.). Customer service swapped it out for us and we just did the regular driving tour. That was a better fit and I'm glad I didn't spend $20 to get the one we wanted. Would recommend the app and the narration.

First of all I want to say that we have been to Gettysburg MANY times. This audio tour was a ghosts of Gettysburg tour and we didn’t feel we got much of that. The main thing we didn’t like was that we felt that it was very difficult to get to the start of the tour because there were TWO different Gettysburg Heritage Centers. Of course we went to the wrong one at first. I don’t think I’d do this audio tour again. I think you could find much better info about ghost sightings, etc online or on YouTube.

It sounds like you might have gone to the wrong location—there’s only one Gettysburg Heritage Center, and the other spot is the Gettysburg National Military Park. The starting point is mentioned in my listing and the instruction email. It also seems you didn’t take my Ghosts audio tour, as this complaint hasn’t happened before. If you didn’t use my product, please contact me for a refund.

I was very excited about this tour based on the reviews, but honestly it wasn’t very good. This really wasn’t much of a ghost tour, rather more of a history lesson with little bits of ghost stories sprinkled in. Normally I would have enjoyed that personally, but the party I was with wanted more haunted stories than history.
When it comes to all the 30 something points where there’s audio input, we expected a lot more stories. It seemed like about 60%-70% of them were just directions. The actual tour with stories didn’t even start until around stop 13 or so. Also, how was Sachs’ Bridge not a part of this tour?! Considering how active the hauntings are supposed to be there, I was shocked it was not included!
Lastly, the tour specifically says to drive 25 mph throughout the drive. Mainly because if you got to the next location too fast, it would cut off the last story and begin with the next one. So we assumed that there would be stories playing for the majority of the drive, being timed out appropriately for very little down time. We were very disappointed to find out that was not the case at all.
So in conclusion, if you want a real ghost tour, look elsewhere. If you want a basic history lesson with some mild spookiness to it, then this could be up your alley.

Josh, thanks for trying my Ghosts of the Gettysburg Battlefield Self-Guided Driving Tour! I appreciate your feedback about the balance between ghost stories and history; the tour is designed to blend both elements. While Sachs Bridge is a notable site, it isn’t part of my audio tour as it's a bit far from my audio tour route. Following the app's suggested pace ensures a seamless flow of stories, and don’t forget to check the "Learn More" section for in-depth insights. Your suggestions are invaluable, and I’m always looking to improve!

A ghost tour of Gettysburg should be a home run. However this was convoluted and seemed like a bad mix of a tour and ghost tour which are two different things. We had already toured the battlefield, and our family wanted to hear some ghost stories. Instead we got some watered down stories that were not scary at all mixed with a retread tour of the battlefield. We only made it thru half the tour and the entire family was begging to turn it off. Really disappointed with our purchase and would encourage you to think twice. With all the history, this should have been easy and fantastic.

Thank you for your insight! Maybe, because you did Gettysburg Battlefield and the Ghost of Gettysburg together. We recommend that everyone take the ghost of battlefield tours two hours before sunset (park closing time).
The best part about our products is that they have no expiration date so you can listen to them at your leisure. I will gladly exchange this for any of my other 100 US tours. Please notify me.

The app guided us through the battlefields at our own pace!! Additionally, we were not on the same audio tour as others which allowed us to avoid many of the “crowds”. The side “ghost stories” were intertwined with the history which made it fun! Note that you need to download the app and tour first! We did so. Still took a minute to figure out that some of the stops were actually just “navigation instructions “. Overall great experience! Would definitely do this again for other tours!

Very easy to use and directions were simple to follow. It took a minute to figure out how it worked but after we got to the first location it started on its own.
This tour was excellent because it combined the historical significance of the locations around Gettysburg, but also wove in stories of hauntings and creepy stories. This was a way to do the history tour without too much of the war and battle explanations, which aren’t everyone’s thing. I liked how it instructed you to park and then just stopped playing until you’re driving at a new location. We got to go the entire way at our own pace and explore when we wanted to.
WAY better than a guided walking tour in the summer heat!!

Does the tour ticket cover multiple days, or is it valid for just one day? We plan to stay in the area for a few days.
Written 2 June 2023
Hi Raymond, Thanks for your question! Self-guided audio tours are valid for an entire year, so you can explore at your own pace. Take it in one day or split it over multiple days—it’s up to you. Just remember, the battlefield and roads are open from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset, so be sure to finish by then. Some parts of the tour go through areas that close at sunset. Enjoy the experience!

If you drive straight through, meaning not getting out of the vehicle to read plaques, Memorial signs, it can be approximately 1 hr. But, since you are your own tour, it can be as short or as long as you like. We spent extra time at some of the areas, where we wanted to investigate, had heard stories and personal accounts of activity. Our tour was closer to 2 hrs. It was really a great tour. Def worth the price!

This is a feature of the TripAdvisor platform that we cannot get them to resolve. Although it says to book per person, just enter “1” (assuming you’re all in one car). This is a self-guided driving tour so you can connect the phone to the car’s speaker system. Everyone then listens together!

What are the Battlefield hours? If we take longer than expected to finish the tour, will we get kicked out?
Written 30 October 2020
Until Oct 31, the battlefield is open until 10pm. In November, it’s 7pm. You don’t get kicked out, but the NPS does start to close some gates into highly trafficked areas of the battlefield.
