Booked this tour well in advance of a trip to Philadelphia as we figured it would cover most of the historical sites that we wanted to see. Initially we were unsure of length of the tour as it may have been too long and become a bit drawn out. It turns out the exact opposite and we would have gladly walked around for many more hours listening to our tour guide Adam.

I cannot honestly say enough about how much we enjoyed this tour and just listening to Adams passion for the city of Philadelphia and the history surrounding it would be worth the cost alone. All the major sites around the Independence Hall area are covered and Adam was happy to answer any questions thrown at him.

If you are visiting Philadelphia, book this tour as it will be one of the highlights of your trip.

Thanks Adam!

Kind regards,
Stephen, Mark and Paul

Thank you for leaving such a thoughtful review! Our guides indeed have a deep passion for the City of Brotherly Love. There are amazing stories on every corner, and having a local guide by your side as you explore the city makes all the difference in the world!

Fantastic tour with Nina! Right off the bat she established a rapport with those on the tour, with her easy-going and light-hearted demeanor. Filled with encyclopedic knowledge about anything and everything Philly, she focused the tour on Revolutionary history while punctuating here and there with interesting facts about Philadelphia. She easily finessed her way around other tour groups and traffic, while answering questions and keeping us engaged. I learned much more than I expected to, and came away with a newfound appreciation for this great city. Thanks, Nina!!

Carla was an excellent guide! In addition to her expertise on Philadelphia’s history, she enriched our tour with her artistic background by explaining in-depth the beautiful brickwork and artistry in Philadelphia’s architecture. She was also a great storyteller regarding the founding fathers and their very interesting but less publicly known personal lives. Highly recommend!

This tour is currently being offered through We Venture (it's listed here by Philly Tour Hub).

This was our second time taking in Philly and this itinerary hit some areas we hadn't seen our last time in town. Elise, our guide, had good knowledge of both the area and history. She uses the filler word "ah" almost every sentence though so it was sometimes difficult to listen to especially for the teachers in our group.

We made one stop at the Center for Art in Wood that was not on the posted schedule and seemed to be of no relevance to the history tour. The stop at the Museum of the American Revolution turned out to be a movie, we did not stay for the live enactment which was taking place next that we had hoped to see. The needless stop at the wood place could have freed up the time to see the live performance.

On most tours the guides typically will get to know you a bit and ask if you'd like pictures in different locations. Elise did not ask and the one time my wife asked her to take a picture for us in front of Independence Hall she cut off the top off the building.

We were mostly underwhelmed by the experience and will look elsewhere next time we return to the area.

Thank you for leaving this review and feedback. I am sorry that you did not receive a 5-star experience, which is something that we strive for on each tour. However, we do use feedback like this to improve our tours. On our tours, we don't only discuss the past but also the present. Old City has experienced a recent rebirth, and one of the largest factors in that has been the local art community. The stop at the Center for Art in Wood pays homage to that part of Old City's story, which is why we include it on our tour. A portion of your ticket is also donated to that community art organization as we believe that supporting local artists and vendors is vital. The George Washington Tent presentation is a wonderful way to understand the man and the complexity of his time, while viewing a truly remarkable American artifact. The live performances at the museum are indeed great but do not run consistently at that time, therefore we are unable to include them on our tours. I thank you for joining us on this tour and appreciate you taking the time to leave these comments.

Great tour of an important city! Rick offered thoughtful, new and topical perspectives of our nation’s founding sites. I appreciate his also asking for questions and answering the interests of our group. He seemed to love sharing his city and made locals and visitors all feel welcome. When friends come to town, send them to Rick!

Thank you Jeannine! No two tours of ours are the same because we craft the experience to the guests. Asking questions and making the tours interactive play a large role in that.

Our guide, Dick, was amazing. Incredibly knowledgeable, and just very enthusiastic about the city's history. He really makes you think about how things work, about government, society, religion, history and people. Learned tons and had lots of fun.

Knowledgeable and fun walk with Howard. I would highly recommend this 2 hour walking tour. Philadelphia is a gem and seeing the architecture up close and learning what happened inside was a great introduction to this American city.

Adam was very knowledgeable, kept the diverse audience engaged and really did a great job. My 16 yr old stayed very engaged where my 11 yr old struggled more. May not be for younger kids.

I think u should put on the website the distance the walking trip encompasses. There were only five people in our group n four of us were old. The walking with only one break was a bit much. We also wanted to see the liberty bell n when we got there he said it was a good time since there was no line but then he kept walking n talking n when he was thru there was a long line n we were too tired to stand n wait for that long. That was one of our main things we wanted to see n I wish he would have taken us in there when we got there.

Thank you for joining us and leaving this review. Our tour does not go into the Liberty Bell pavilion because of timing, and because the lines can get rather long and the exhibit around the bell takes time to read. But our guides give a wonderful interpretation of the bell from the outside, where the bell is viewable through a window. We definitely recommend to our guests to visit the bell outside of the tour when they have time to see it all.
