My sister and I, who are native New Yorkers, did this tour. It was wonderful! Jonathan, our tour guide, was super knowledgeable and personable. We were a large group and he made it feel like a private tour (how does one memorize so many people's names so quickly???!!!!) We highly recommend this tour to anyone, tourist and native New Yorkers alike. The history of Grand Central Terminal is fascinating and had such an impact not only on the City but the rest of our country. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves not only New York but history in general!

Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the Grand Central, and she made the tour both informative and fun.
She had a knack for pointing out interesting details and stories that made the city come alive for us. We learned about the architecture, and the people who have shaped its history.
Overall, I would highly recommend this walking city trip to anyone who wants to explore NYC.

Jonathan was a great guide. He remembered all 11 of our first names, which was a nice touch. Lots of historical background; very interesting! Tour ran 90 minutes, which was just right. Group was limited to 15 people which allowed us to all hear Jonathan and still stay socially distant, which was important to me.
I would have liked a map of the Terminal. I would have jotted some things down and would help me navigate Grand Central after the tour. (I had to ask for directions to go back to one of the places we visited.)

The tour was just ok. The group was fairly large (20ish), so it was difficult to hear the guide, and the earpieces provided didn't work well. It was longer than expected at 90 min, but also felt slow/long. On the upside, we learned a few cool details about the historic terminal and saw a few areas we would never have known existed.

Hi Britney thanks for for leaving this review and we are very sorry you found the tour just ok. To be clear, we had three guides on assignment that day so your group size did not exceed 17 which is our max. We apologize about the earpiece it seems you were having signal crossover we were made aware of the problem and are correcting it immediately. Please reach out to us at tours@untappedcities.com so we can make the situation right. All our best!

I loved seeing the historical pictures of Grand Central. Our Tour Guide JR did a great job telling us about the beginnings and the history of the terminal. There truly were so many secrets and interesting facts I did not know! I highly recommend this tour - especially to anyone who like myself has spent a good part of their life commuting in and out of this station and never giving it a good hard look! It’s a beauty!

Good tour, focused on art, historical fun facts, & architecture. It would’ve been nice to have had earphones, sometimes difficult to hear tour guide with all the noise in the terminal. Tour guide used a lap top to show earlier historical pictures. 15 people in the group.

Our tour guide, John, was exceptional!!! Immediately learned and used our names making the tour personal and engaging. His mastery of the history of Grand Central Terminal was top notch and his delivery of the facts made it feel like a conversation instead of a rote lesson. I'd love to book any tour with Untapped (and John) after such a wonderful first experience. What other tours does he lead? Sign me up when I'm in town next!

I highly recommend this tour. The gal who led ours was Very Knowledgeable. We learned a ton of fascinating history in the process of touring the stunning building, and, when anyone asked a question, she knew every detail about any related topic that came up!m.
Bottom line? Take this tour.

Our tour guide Richard shared his passion for the city and his love for Grand Central. We felt like we were taking a step back in time uncovering all that the gilded age had to offer. He took us through back passages and helped us understand the original vision for the station and how it has been transformed over the years. We were so grateful that this iconic structure was saved from the wrecking ball by preservationists. This building has stories to tell and we were delighted to hear them!
