      Highly informative and entertaining.
Very informative, energetic, and entertaining guide. Sound equipment was very helpful. Well worth the money. I learned a lot about Asheville's unique history.

      Rainy Sunday
It may have been a bit of a drizzle but it was a wonderful way to experience the development of Asheville. Marilyn Ball was excellent and her joyous love of Asheville made the tour special.

Showcasing the Very Best of Asheville History and Architecture
Kevan introduced Asheville to our Road Scholar group. He was so interesting and enthusiastic about his home town, not to mention most knowledgeable, A small group of us requested a more in depth experience focusing on architecture and fortunately for us Kevan was available. Unfortunately, the weather was not cooperating, but not a problem. Kevan called upon Jason to drive us in his van and add some additional commentary on beer and how it is locally brewed. A great afternoon in spite of the weather.

A great overview of the city
We began our long weekend in Asheville with a walking tour to orient ourselves. The weather cooperated and it was a great morning for a stroll. Our group assembled at 10 a.m. in the center of town, as instructed. Tebbe, our guide, showed up and distributed audio headsets, which were a real plus for the tour. I could see how otherwise you might have difficulty hearing in some spots, but this eliminated any issues. Tebbe is a long-time resident who genuinely seems to enjoy local history. He offered in-depth and often wry commentary on the city and its stories. We initially lingered at the starting point for a while and I was starting to wonder when the 'walking' part would start, but then we set off and kept a good pace for the remainder of the 2 hours. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and definitely got my bearings for the remainder of our walking throughout downtown for the rest of the weekend. We also saw a number of places that we returned to check out on our own later on. I would highly recommend this as one of your initial activities if you are planning a multi-day visit to the city.

      EXCELLENT tour
It was just me, myself, and I when I ambled up to the Vance Monument to start the tour with Rick and.....just me. Hefty kudos to Rick taking his time and providing an unsurpassingly gracious and informative tour of an amazing town. He did an outstanding job, and I'll be recommending this tour for any and all lucky enough to visit this gem of a city, historic and vibrant.

Rick was an excellent guide. Knowledgeable, friendly with an insiders take. Went longer than contracted for which I think reflects his great enthusiasm for sharing his knowledge of Asheville's history and culture.

      Knowledgeable and full of detail
The tour was great. It was very informative and interesting. Tebbe, my tour guide, was so knowledgeable .I was surprised and grateful that Tebbe kept our tour appointment, since I was the only one who purchased the tour on a Monday morning. We covered a lot of ground in the 2 hour tour...from architecture to Thomas Wolfe stories. I would highly recommend this tour.

      Wonderful Private Tour
It turned out that I was the only person that day on the tour. Lucky me. I had a wonderful time learning all about Ashville's history which Tebben is really knowledgeable about. His enthusiasm for Asheville shows! Well worth the time! Just do it!

      Informative and fun
We had Tebbe as a guide and he was incredibly nice and accommodating to the group on top of being able to answer all the questions! The tour itself was a great way for me to understand how this town I visited for the first time came to be and even culturally why it is the way it is. Exciting to learn about happenings while you're standing on the spot. Tebbe did a great job re-creating hundreds of years of change so I could "see" it. Tour was 2 hours.

What you don’t know about Asheville
We brought a group of 25 REALTORS on our annual bus trip. This was the perfect thing for us to do! You got to see the city and learn history that even the frequent visitor probably doesn’t know. Tebbe was witty and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our trip!

Tebbe was interesting and a good story teller. Interesting history of the area from its beginnings to present including some unfortunate events and things that turned out well for the city.

Tebbe was an amazing tour guide of Asheville!
We lucked into a beautiful January morning. The history and architectural information we learned about the area was fascinating and shared in such a knowledgeable and engaging way by Tebbe.
We would highly recommend taking the time to go on this tour.

We had an excellent tour with Tebbe. He was friendly, informative and enthusiastic. The walk was easy, and the headsets made it easy to hear. One of the highlights was information about Thomas Wolfe, which piqued our interest enough for a follow up tour of the Thomas Wolfe home and visitor center. The tour was $5, and excellent, and the visitor center movie and information were very interesting.

We had a wonderful experience with our tour guide, Mary. She has so much knowledge about the places we saw. We enjoyed her little extra tidbits about historic events and issues that arose in the building of the city. She has so much knowledge about the city and encouraged questions and participation. We highly recommend this tour. It was very informative and thoroughly enjoyable.

Tour guide Teddy called us right after signing up, said it was too cold to do the tour (it wasn’t) and we needed to cancel through Trip Advisor. Trouble was, we lost all our payment if we cancelled. We called Teddy back to ask him to cancel the trip so we would get our $$ back, and he never responded.

Hi Inia, we are sorry for the mix up and inconvenience. You have been fully refunded. We apologize for not getting back with you by phone. We lost phone service on Sunday and just got it back late yesterday. In the end, however, the mistake was ours, and we are sorry we didn't get everything closed out for you. Thanks for your understanding and best wishes for a great holiday season.

My brother and I took the walking tour and Tebbie was our guide. We were very pleased with his ready knowledge and depth of knowledge regarding local history. His pleasant demeanor, and willingness to answer our questions really added to our experience. We would recommend this tour and this guide to others who wish to explore the city and its history.

Tour guide was tentative and seemed uncertain about most of what she had to say about Asheville. As the tour progressed, it became a short-order indoctrination of conflict theory, i.e., statues removed because the subject was a "white supremacist," native Americans and the trail of tears, lynchings, and how most of the notables mentioned were alcoholics. The best part of the tour was listening to the comments of others on the tour as it spiraled downward into a farce that we all wanted to end soon. It would have been wonderful to hear a balanced objective history of Asheville, instead of a "woke" biased version of American's failures.
I would recommend that you spend your hard-earned money on "tours" that offer an intelligible outlook from another time. That is what responsible honest historians and tour guides do.

Randall, thank you for your message. Yours was a very different experience than what guests have on an Asheville by Foot tour. I would appreciate if you would direct message me more details about the day/time you took the tour and your guide so that I can better understand what happened. Thank you.

The guide was very unenthusiastic. She sounded more like a last moment stand in.
I don’t even know here name as she did not introduce herself.
She could not even recommend a single restaurant
Meanwhile next to us I saw free walking tour with a very enthusiastic guide who was telling an interesting story about the building that our guide had only a few words for.
I wished we took that free walking tour instead

Perfect historic tour! Kudos to our guide, Mary, who was a fun and knowledgeable guide. She seemed to enjoy us as much as we enjoyed her! She knows the history and what makes Asheville special; where the city came from historically, and could answer our questions. After doing the tour we could appreciate the city from a historic perspective instead of just wandering around with no background information. Great tour, thanks, Mary!

Sharon was a superb guide. We never could have appreciated the development of Asheville without her deep knowledge of the people who created this fascinating city. She has been here for decades and understands the evolution of Asheville as a vacation destination.

We scheduled this tour for our first day in Asheville, It was a great introduction not only to the history of the city but also provided an overview of the city and how it is laid out. Our travel guide, Mark, also provided recommendations for food, shopping and the like which was extremely helpful for planning out the remainder of our visit. Very definitely a great investment of our time and very little money to make the most of our trip. Thank you!
