- R5093HXdianac0 contributionsGotta see Moab UtahIf you want to see something beautiful stop and check out Moab Utah it is breath taking. Downtown has some really good restaurants also. There is a lot to do! It's a cool little tourist town. Hey we only live once really stop and check it out it's gorgeous!!Written 24 December 2024
- Lstpierre20120 contributionsSo worth it!!Amazing!!! So worth the extra money for a private tour!! We saw so many extras and got the inside scoop off the beaten path. LOVED IT!!Written 11 December 2024
- boristocrat0 contributionsNot quite what we expectedOur guide was rather abrupt. For example, when we got in the Jeep and asked why some rocks in the area were green, he said, "What do you mean, I only see red rocks." We mentioned we'd seen green rocks at Upheaval Dome. He just shrugged. We asked how much of the back area of Arches we'd see, mentioning that we'd done some of the more famous sights already. He said that there were only two areas that we hadn't seen ... anyway, we bailed.I'm sure much of it was spectacular. We just felt that we'd wanted to learn more about geology and history along with seeing plenty of sights that most people didn't get to see, so maybe we were on the wrong tour, our bad. I imagine that like most tours, different guides offer different experiences. But Arches is fantastic and based on most of the reviews, this tour is pleasing to most people.Written 21 November 2024
- elizabethmK1869GR0 contributionsHas to be on your bucket listProbably the most incredible views. The sunsets, sunrises, the gorgeous terrain. A must. We were there for days and it does not get old. The colors of everything around are just amazing.Written 12 November 2024
- jgould10050 contributionsGreat way to see the Arches. Wonderful guide! This was an amazing tour. Mike was our guide and he was extremely knowledgeable about the area and the way the formations were created. So friendly and did a great job! It was a unique way to see the Arches and we're so glad we did it! Highly recommend!!Written 2 November 2024

- MJBrockster0 contributionsIncredible Day on the White Rim Road!!My wife and I did this expedition in late October of 2024 and it was absolutely incredible. From start to finish, everything was perfect. I initially considered renting a 4x4 and driving the road myself. After taking the tour, I'm glad I let the professionals handle it. If you are not an experienced off-road driver, don't do it. Spend your time enjoying the ride and taking in the sights instead. Our guide Seth was friendly, a responsible and highly capable driver, incredibly knowledgeable about the area, a great conversationalist, and more than willing to take as many photos as we might request (hint: It was more than a few!). You will see so much on this tour and the day will just blow by. Some examples: 1. Petroglyphs 2. Jug Handle Arch 3. Thelma & Louise Point 4. Musselman Arch 5. Lathrop Canyon 6. White Rim Road 7. Shafer Trail Road There is SO much to see here, and all of it is beautiful. We took literally hundreds of photos. We even got lucky enough to run into a small group of Bighorn Sheep grazing just beside the road. Even the lunch was fantastic. We had a chicken wrap, which was cold and delicious, along with fruit and a small dessert, next to the Colorado River in Lathrop Canyon. Navtec is very mindful of safety and the needs of passengers. There were plenty of bathroom breaks, and snacks and water were readily available at all times. Our guide Seth was trained in remote medical emergency procedures, and the 4x4 was equipped with spare tire, medical kit and other emergency supplies should we need them (we didn't). We wrapped up the day with a drive up the Shafer Trail Road. You can see this road from the top down at the Canyonlands visitor center. It was a completely different experience driving up it. This tour was unquestionably a highlight of our trip to Arches and Canyonlands (and we had a LOT of great experiences). Navtec was highly professional and our guide Seth was exceptional. I cannot recommend this tour enough! MikeWritten 28 October 2024
- 56leahs0 contributionsMike was awesome!!!We had an incredible experience with Mike as our canyoneering guide! He was fantastic with our 6-year-old daughter, making her feel safe and excited throughout the adventure. His wealth of knowledge about the area added depth to the experience, and he was always focused on safety while ensuring we had a blast. Mike's fun personality made the day unforgettable for our family. Highly recommend him for anyone looking to explore canyoneering!Written 27 October 2024
- rlmptl0 contributionsbreathtaking. Go early to avoid crowdsExcellent, magnificent sites even mid October the only way to see this park is if you are at the entrance by 6 am in the dark so you can actually get in without waiting in a really long line up even with a booked spot. You can enter the park before 7 and after 4 without a booked spot. This is very expansive park and most of the arches are a fair hike in so be warned. there were a couple along the road but the scenery on the drive around the park was one spectacular view after another. This is a must see attractionWritten 23 October 2024
- billinb0st0n0 contributionsAwesome new vistasWe had gone to Island in the Sky with an audio tour the day before. This was even better. Driving into the back country over insanely rough roads opened up a vast wilderness of rock formations and grasslands we could never have seen on our own. Charlotte, our guide, was a great driver and a fount of information on geology, flora and fauna.Written 22 October 2024
- Coastal5774040 contributionsGreat trip through Canyonlands!Excellent tour with Seth! Off road trip to places we would never have seen on our own. Seth was very knowledgeable and told us all about the geology, stopped at multiple sites and took photos. Great experience!!Written 22 October 2024
- R5573HEsuea0 contributionsAwesome Tour!!We took the Canyonlands half day tour from Moab through Navtec Expeditions on 10/22/24. Our tour group size was 5 and Navtec provided pickup and drop off at our hotel. Our tour guide was Cody. Cody was an excellent tour guide! He was very personable, passionate, and knowledgeable of the history and facts of the Canyonlands area, as he spends personal time there as well as conducting tours. I highly recommend this tour for seeing the Canyonlands, as we took a back country route that provided unique perspective. The scenery was astounding and the overall experience very enjoyable. A memory maker!Written 22 October 2024
- Gene P0 contributionsA perfect day in ArchesWe spent the day in Arches National Park yesterday and felt we had seen it all. Then after a night of wind and rain we were sure the adventure would be a bust. We're we wrong. With Seth at the helm of his trusty Toyota we bucked up and down dirt roads and splashed and played our way to remote arches, beautiful back county. Gorgeous and no crowds. Seth's extensive knowledge of geography provided layers of insight and opened our minds to how this sacred place was formed.Written 18 October 2024
- 733kathyh0 contributionsFun, scenic float trip! The views were amazing and so was our guide, Turner. He was so knowledgeable and made everyone feel comfortable. The trip was about 3 hours, with a stop for lunch which Turner prepared for us. Various sandwiches, chips, drinks and cookies. It was hot so wear a hat, sunscreen & take water. We did get wet but dried off pretty quick. Would highly recommend!Written 17 October 2024
- saxwoman630 contributionsCalm Water Tour was GorgeousMy husband and I booked the calm water tour of the Colorado River. It was a beautiful fall day - warm and sunny. But the water levels were low so we opted not to do river rafting. We basically had a personal tour with Josh - we were the only ones this afternoon and they gave us the option to pay for the 3rd person so the trip would go (minimum # of guests). The tour max is 6. We did this mainly due to time constraints on our part - but it turned out to be wonderful. Josh was informative and friendly. He stopped at some great places along with river and gave us the history and importance of each. We also stopped for some great photo ops. We put in at Potash Rd (just beyond the Mine) and went about 14 miles up to the Dead Horse Canyon Overlook. It's just beautiful to see the views from the water after having hiked up on the rim at Dead Horse the day before. It was a beautiful way to spend the afternoon.Written 17 October 2024

My wife and I booked a tour with NAVTEC Expeditions when we visited Moab. We did the trip with another delightful person who was traveling solo. Josh, our guide, took the three of us on an amazing tour of Canyonlands and Arches National Parks. We had visited both parks on the previous day. But we were only traveling on the paved roads. Josh took all of us down the dirt roads in both of the parks to show us the sights from a different perspective. In Canyonlands, we had seen the sights from the top of the canyon. Josh took us down to the bottom and it was wonderful to see the park from a different viewpoint. Josh handled the 4x4 vehicle like a pro and it was fun to see him maneuver the ups and downs as we traveled from place to place. Josh was also very informative and we learned a lot about the area and the parks as we spent the day with him. We would highly recommend NAVTEC Expeditions. They are professionals and the tours will give you a better perspective on these beautiful parks.

Overall it was a great tour. Saw more than we would have on our own because of their accessibility to areas with a 4x4 vehicle and knowledge of the parks. Below are our pros and cons.
Pros
Knowledgeable guide
4x4 vehicle
Altérnate access to parks
Very well planned (customized to us)
Didn’t feel rushed
Good lunch
Felt safe very experienced capable driver on wildly uneven unpaved roads
Plenty of restroom facilities and water and snacks provided
Plenty of photo ops and hiking options
Cons
Condition of vehicle (front seat not adj because broken, limited who could sit there, exhaust fumes smelt the entire trip)
The trip was definitely a 5 star trip and we’d recommend unfortunately the condition of our vehicle “SYNCLINE” was enough to lower by 1 star. We don’t believe all vehicles have similar issues

Ron was our NAVTEC guide for the day ay Canyonlands and Arches. This adventure was absolutely great! Ron was a wealth of information, took us to places we could never have found by ourselves and provided detailed information on the history and science of what we were seeing. His driving was excellent in the variety of remote and rough locations we visited. Ron prepared a delicious lunch, and it was served at a unique site overlooking many miles of magnificent scenery. This tour was unhurried with plenty of time for pictures and stops for closer looks in the parks, and was worth every dime of the reasonable cost. This was a highlight of our long visit out west! thank you, Ron and NAVTEC. Well done!

Abby was a fantastic tour guide taking us down Potash by the Petroglyphs entering the off road at the Jug Handle Arch through some of Dead Horse, Canyonlands along the White Rim and Shaffer Trail to far into the backcountry in Arches. She was extremely knowledgeable about the flora and fauna as well as the history of the area pointing out various things that we would of never even thought about. Black Widow nest, with the nest full of eggs and the spiders ex left hanging (😥), Hydra shrimp in a small puddle. Pointed out the Marlboro Man commercial site as well as Thelma and Louise (I can understand why they thought they were at the Grand Canyon). The lunch and picnic spot were right on. The vehicle was very capable though it was well used didn’t bother us a bit, even added to the atmosphere of the tour. The afternoon weather was sunny 90 degrees we were glad we had the air conditioned Landrover. Don’t want to spoil it all for you but ask for Abby as your tour guide and you won’t be disappointed.

I took the Arches and Canyonlands 4x4 Adventure from Moab tour in December and missed the peak season crowds. On this particular tour, we drove in a 4x4 through the back country and I felt closer to nature than in a typical national park tour. In addition to the sites of natural beauty, I learned about commerce in the area (i.e. Potash production and uranium mining). We also viewed dinosaur tracks, petroglyphs, and rock art sites. I want to compliment the tour guide who was a wealth of knowledge and kept our attention during the tour. He also asked the group what specifically they wanted to see during the tour. The 4x4 vehicle was comfortable and easily made it through the back country.

We are traveling with another couple to visit 10 national parks in the west. Arches and Canyonlands were numbers six and seven. Our tour guide, Ron, provided us with an outstanding opportunity to see places and things we could have never seen on our own without a 4 x 4 vehicle. His vast knowledge of the area’s geology, history, archaeology, etc. provided us with great commentary and information.
Ron was easy to talk to, and was willing to answer any questions we had. He knew the answers to virtually every one of them! He also made requested stops at both visitors centers so we could get our National Parks Passport books stamped.
We stopped for lunch midday at one of his “ secret” secluded spots. We were provided with delicious Thai chicken wraps, fresh pasta salad, chips, and other snacks. The snacks were available throughout the day was additional water. The food was delicious and just right for our trip.
Ron gave us some great recommendations for dinner and we were very pleased with the two we tried. We would highly recommend NAVTEC and Ron if you want to really see the best of Arches and Canyonlands and the back country!

Blaine was our guide for this tour, and he was awesome! Very knowledgeable about the area and its history. He was great at painting a picture of the past. The ride felt like we were part of a wonderful adventure with beautiful landscapes at every turn. I highly recommend this tour. Do not expect a leisurely ride through the desert, this is a 4x4 Adventure, so it will be a bit bumpy and off-road most of the time. For us, it was a blast!!!

My husband and I recently went on the full day Arches and Canyonlands 4x4 tour, and let me tell you, it was the most amazing experience ever. From start to finish, every penny spent was totally worth it!
The tour allowed us to explore areas of the parks that we wouldn't have been able to see otherwise. The breathtaking landscapes, unique rock formations, and stunning vistas left us in awe. If you're looking for an adventure that takes you off the beaten path and offers stunning views, this tour is a must-do.
We can't praise our guide, Blaine, enough. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable about the parks, but he was also a genuinely cool dude who made the experience even more enjoyable. Blaine's passion for the history and his ability to share interesting facts and stories added so much value to the tour.
We truly wished we could give more than 5 stars for this exceptional experience. If you're considering a visit to the national parks, we highly recommend the Arches and Canyonlands 4x4 tour with Navtec. It's an adventure you won't regret!

If you want to cruise on a highway in a bus, do not take this excursion. If you are looking for a 4x4 adventure, this is the trip! The 4x4 roads were a blast. The guide (Yory) was knowledgeable and very skilled at 4x4 driving. This trip takes you to places in Canyonlands and Arches you will never see from an actual car or bus.

Leave the entrance gates behind as you explore Arches and Canyonlands in reverse by 4-Wheeling it into the backcountry of the parks. Our guide Blaine was the quintessential tour guide offering expert navigation, a delightful sense of humor and an abundance of historical knowledge of the area. Despite several road and trail closures due to snow and ice, Blaine entertained us with a trip we will not soon forget. We saw dinosaur footprints, wildlife, petroglyphs and so many arches and canyons. Highly recommend this day-long excursion and wouldn't hesitate for a second to ask specifically for Blaine.

We did not hike on our trip. This was a wonderful escorted tour of many sites, frequent stops and walkabouts, along with interesting information offered about all we saw. Simply perfect!
