I went on my first food tour in Montreal over the summer and absolutely loved it! I had such a great time taste testing and learning about the city's history that I figured it would be worth doing one in San Francisco; specifically in a neighborhood we were not quite familiar

I've been on quite a few food tours. Here are some details I wish I had known before going on this one: - I was told this tour would be good for kids - it was AMAZING for kids. What a good deal. We had our 5 year old twins with us, and many accommodations were made for them.

Response from tmRoy, Owner at Little Italy and North Beach Walking Tour

Thank you for your kind comments. Our goal is to weave the true fabric of North Beach\Little Italy into our food tour, so our guests experience the real flavor of the neighborhood. We want our guests to enjoy a wide variety of local foods and to feel like they have experienced the neighborhood with a true local. I apologize that we did not achieve that goal on your tour. We’ll use your feedback to ensure that we always achieve that goal in the future. From Cavalli Cafe, a local roaster, where our guests enjoy delicious coffee drinks and experience a local cafe, and Mario’s, where they enjoy focaccia sandwiches from a San Francisco institution, from Z. Cioccolato, where they savor chocolate and learn how it’s made from an award-winning chocolatier, and Stella Pastry, which has been making cannoli for decades, to Molinari, where guests enjoy deli sandwiches with their salami that they have been making since 1896, Aqualino, where we enjoy local foods, such fresh bruschetta, to amazing local pizza at a local North Beach staple for more than 30 years and more, we want our guests to enjoy great local foods in generous portions. At the same time, being from San Francisco, we want our guests to experience the neighborhood from a local’s point of view, getting below the surface in a way that only someone who is from the neighborhood can do. We want them to meet the local artisans that make North Beach\Little Italy special. We hope that the combination of the food and the tour of North Beach\Little Italy will provide our guests with an amazing experience. While we came close to that goal, again, we did not reach that goal on your tour. We’ll use your comments to ensure that our future guests have an amazing experience. Thank you for joining us and your feedback. We’’ll use it to improve the tour.

Blandina was a wonderful guide, because not only did she introduce us to a number of great restaurants and shops with delicious food, but she also provided a wealth of information about the history and culture of North Beach. She was able to do this because of her long residence
