    Fun, interesting and delicious tour!
This was a great small group walking tour of Chinatown. Many stops for food and info about the area. Isabella and Andre were super friendly and made everyone in the group feel welcome. Isabella asked about allergies and preferences before we began and ordered vegetarian items for me (the only veg) along the way. Good sized food portions - no one left hungry! The chocolate shop owner opened the store special for us. So good! And the tea tasting was really great! We also made a stop at the Tin How Temple. I didn't know this was on the tour and I really enjoyed the visit there. Would totally recommend this tour!

More than just dried fish and red lanterns
We ended up having a “private” tour with Scott who was a very insightful and interesting guide. We live in SF but realized there’s always things you can learn about the place you call home. Highlight was the tea tasting at the end of the tour- great way to end an eye opening journey through Chinatown.

    Highly recommend!
Very educational as well as delicious food. The guide was a local and very knowledgeable about the area even after the tour when we asked for recommendations. The owner was very quick to reply to our inquiry and set up a private tour with only a few days notice. Overall, great experience!

    Best Food Tour Ever
The best Food Tour we have ever been on, and we have been on many tours in many places! Isabella was knowledgeable, accommodating, and a delight. She shared personal anecdotes about the places we saw, and definitely knows where to get the best food.

Take the tour and skip lunch.
We visit San Francisco once a year and usually go on a walking tour of some kind. The Chinatown Culinary tour was the best one we have been on. Scott, our guide, was the best tour guide we have ever experienced and that is a sincere assessment. At one point I complimented Scott (he has a long resume as a broadcast and media spokesperson) on his enunciation and diction. It was easy to hear him above the street noise and speaking to a group of ten. He was never verbose, or rambling. Finally, our original plan was to take the tour and get a recommendation for lunch in Chinatown, but we were so stuffed from all of the treats provided that we skipped lunch.

    History and food of Chinatown
This a very enjoyable combination of history of Chinatown and delicious food, with a great tea sampling session. The guide was entertaining and knowledgeable, with fun companions on the 3+ hour adventure walk.

    Come Break Some Bread!
Brian is a fantastic ambassador to North Beach. He was greeted by many local merchants and residents as we strolled around the streets. He’s a great story teller and is passionate steward of the many long-standing establishments. Not only did we sample some truly lovely offerings, we also stopped in to some fine and unique stores. If you are on a Keto diet or are carb adverse, then this tour is NOT for you. We loved it!

    Great visit to Chinatown!
Probably the guide with the deepest knowledge that I have ever met. You could tell that Scott enjoyed conveying his information!

    Brian is awesome
I loved the tour. The four hours flew by and Brain is an absolute delight to have as a guide. He is a San Franciscan through and through; with his charm and stories, I felt like I was really walking through San Francisco with someone who had a real relationship with the city and its people. I would recommend this to both locals and those from out of state!

    Excellent tour
We did a morning tour with Scott, who was very informative but also quite entertaining. Highlights for us included Jade Chocolates, the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie factory and Vital Tealeaf. We ended up making unique purchases from each of these stops, for ourselves as well as for gifting! It was a great time! Thank you Scott!

    Food is outstanding
As other reviews have stated, there is SO MUCH FOOD on this tour! If you have taken other food-based tours in the past, and are thinking to expect only a small serving...you will be pleasantly surprised. Though you don't cover much ground on the walking tour, the food was fantastic.

    Fun, food and history tour
So much food! And it was all amazing. Great day to walk about North Beach, hear some SF history and local character with Brian, who took great care to keep us on track and enjoying the star of the show - the wonderful and filling food. Seriously, take the tour, but don't eat breakfast or have early dinner reservations as you will be stuffed if you eat all that is provided as this is a very generous food tour of North Beach.

    Simply Wonderful
Brian our tour guide was fabulous. Informative and funny throughout the tour. It was only 2 of us on the tour and we were treated like royalty. We are so much amazing food and soaked up the chilled out vibe around North Beach. Brian knew everybody around and it felt like we were walking around in his back yard. Would highly recommend this to everybody, a must do when in San Francisco. Don’t eat beforehand though! 5 stars to Brian, he really made the tour what it was! If we’re are ever back in town we will come back and see you again.

We loved our Chinatown and North Beach walking tour. My family enjoyed all th walking history and of course- the food. The time in China Town was our favorite piece and if you have less time I would recommend doing at least that tour. Our tour guide was a knowledgable and interesting character that was informative and patient with our group. The tea tasting is something we are still talking about weeks later-a truly unique experience. Some people in our group seemed a little rushed to make it to their evening plans- so give yourself enough time surrounding your tour. Come with an empty belly and your curiosity! I would recommend this tour, and even go on it again!

Definitely got more than expected. Started off at the south gate in Chinatown and proceeded to a local park where we ate Korean "meat buns" - delicious and surprisingly sweet to some degree. Our guide was a local writer who provided many fascinating bit of trivia on our four hour walk through the two districts, ending in North Beach/Little Italy. Along the way we sampled dim sum, chocolates, Chinese entrees, tea-tasting from a true expert, grilled sandwiches and finally wine and pizza. Don't eat before this tour or you'll definitely be stuffed by the end! Definitely recommend for those foodies wanting a quick taste of the local cuisine - well worth the money, as you'd spend much experiencing all these treats independently.

Isabella was great! She shared a ton of great information about the neighborhoods sure took us through, which were full of fascinating people, shops, and architecture. She seamlessly coordinated all our tastings so we could just soak everything in. The tea tasting at Vital Tea-Life was particularly fun. That's it!

Isabella was so knowledgeable about the entire area. She kept us entertained the whole time with her anecdotes about all the shops, restaurants and people she knew and toured with. All the good shops and restaurants we were brought to were fabulous. I didn’t expect to walk away so full!
I also didn’t realize how hilly Chinatown was. Glad I had good walking shoes on!

This is a wonderful tour for tourists and locals and all ages. We had three generations and everyone had a great time. You just have to like food. Isabella did a great job of accommodating everyone's food limitations, and showing/teaching us interesting things about the city, and getting us excited for each next food stop. We live in the bay area/SF and Chinatown and North Beach are just wonderful areas of the city with lots to see. Since there were frequent stops to sit and eat, no one felt they were walking too far or getting too cold in the weather. It was perfect.

We looked forward to this combo Chinatown and north beach food tour but we were disappointed. Our guide talked a lot and very quickly so wasn’t always easy to understand or take in what she was saying. Our European friends had trouble following all she said. The food tastings came mainly in two large groups- a mini meal of dim sum/Chinese food and it was ok but not special. Peking duck was quite fatty. The Italian part was a slice of pizza, a glass of wine and slightly stale tasting cannoli. Uncle Gee’s tea tasting was the best - unusual, very entertaining and the teas were lovely. Of all the food tours we’ve done this was the most mediocre which doesn’t fit for the city we were in.

Wonderful food and history tour! This is more of a two for one tour because the tour guide is very knowledgeable about San Francisco history and sites. Isabella was very accommodating to everyone and has many colorful stories to share. I enjoyed my time very much. This tour is a little longer at 4 hours so make sure to wear comfy shoes and clothing and bring a jacket for the evening.

This tour is outstanding and well worth it. Brian, our tour guide, is a native of San Francisco with a wonderful sense of the history of the neighborhoods and a great sense of humor. The food stops included a fine chocolate shop, wonderful traditional chinese sit down dinner restaurant (endorsed by many celebrity photos), delicious fresh baked goods and a fabulous tea shop run by a highly entertaining 92 year old shop owner. Further on, the North Beach stops included wonderful Italian restaurant stop, fresh baked goodies, fudge and even a fun custom clothes maker. We learned so much not only about the food but the cultures of the different neighborhoods. Thank you Brian for the great experience!

We had a great time, our tour guide Lauren was very knowledgeable and was great at providing info before the different tastings. She was very knowledgeable of the history and the areas of Chinatown and North Beach. We had some food allergies in our group and Lauren made sure to note down all of them and accommodate as best as possible so that everyone was included and could participate at each stop! Our favorite was the tea tasting at Vitale Tealeaf and the sandwich at Molinari.

Our guide was a friendly woman who made all feel welcome. She was soft-spoken but had a microphone and speaker for assistance. Problem was each time she turned her head the speaker turned with her. In the end, we heard maybe 50% of what she said. We ate many samples on the street and honestly, I like sitting down to enjoy them and get to know fellow travelers. The food vendors were varied but not inspiring. Overall, we found this to be an incredibly average experience.
