An independent trip to the beautiful Muir Woods National Monument requires advance reservations, and finding parking in Sausalito can be difficult. Easily visit both must-see locations with this guided tour from San Francisco, which includes skip-the-line access at Muir Woods and a hassle-free stop at the charming waterfront town. At each destination, enjoy free time away from your group, so you can explore at your own pace.
What to Expect
Start your Muir Woods National Monument and Sausalito tour with pickup from Union Square. Drive over the Golden Gate Bridge and catch sight of Alcatraz on the way to Muir Woods.

Upon arrival, bypass the entrance lines and head inside to wander the forest grounds at your own speed. See California’s old-growth redwood trees, and take in the fresh air.

Next, get back in your vehicle for the ride to the Sausalito waterfront. Again, you can explore at your own pace as you walk the waterfront. Pop into art galleries or snag a snack or a drink (at your own expense).

Afterward, your tour ends with a ride back to San Francisco. If you’ve upgraded to take the ferry, you’ll ride enjoy a boat ride back to the city.

Parking NIGHTMARE in daytime.

Wonderful place to visit. Beautiful national forest; Even though, parking is NIGHTMARE, one must visit these national treasure and appreciate the nature's GIFT. Must reserve a parking before going there, DO NOT FORGET!!! Otherwise your visit will be reduced to DRIVE BY viewing.

A beautiful morning tour of the Muir Woods sanctuary

Our guide was very helpful and well informed. The early arrival to the park allowed us to have an hour of very quiet hiking in this magical place. We loved every minute of it.

Traffic plays a major role, otherwise it takes under an hour back to SF in good traffic.
